Who is Jake, the “Crypto King”?
Carl Williams’s TechTimes profile, published November 6, 2023, calls its subject “Jake” and describes him as a fintech entrepreneur and venture capitalist. It says he had more than seven years in crypto at the time, traveled to speak at conferences, and had experienced both successful and failed ventures. The profile does not provide supporting records or independent verification for those biographical claims.
The name behind the nickname is not settled by that article. A 2018 ANON project document and a podcast listing associate “Crypto King” with Jake Greenbaum, but neither establishes that Greenbaum is the Jake featured in the TechTimes profile. The nickname is not unique: in 2024, Reuters described Canadian Aiden Pleterski as a self-proclaimed “Crypto King” in a report republished by Yahoo. Without a direct identification from the profile, it is safest to refer to its subject as Jake.
What did Jake predict about Bitcoin?
TechTimes reported that Jake forecast Bitcoin would reach $150,000–$210,000 within two years of the profile’s November 6, 2023 publication. That was a prediction with a horizon ending around November 2025, not a current price estimate. The article compared the forecast with Bitcoin’s then-cited prior all-time high of about $69,000; it did not provide independent analysis or evidence validating the forecast.
