What happened to Lenskart shares on listing day?
Lenskart began trading on the NSE and BSE on 10 November 2025, following an IPO priced at ₹402 per share. The NSE-archived basis-of-allotment advertisement had named that planned trading date and stated the offer price. The later NSE filing confirms the shares were listed on both exchanges that day (NSE filing; basis-of-allotment advertisement).
Contemporaneous reports recorded a below-issue-price opening on both venues. The shares then moved sharply in both directions before closing a little above ₹402, according to Business Standard’s listing-day coverage and The Indian Express (Business Standard; The Indian Express).

How did the share price move during the session?
Business Standard reported an intraday low of ₹356 on the NSE and ₹355 on the BSE, as well as an NSE high of ₹413.75. Its reported closing prices were ₹404.55 on the NSE and ₹403.95 on the BSE. The reported range indicates a volatile session, not a steady climb from the open. The available coverage does not provide a corresponding BSE high, and these intraday figures are news-reported prices rather than exchange-tick data independently reviewed here (Business Standard’s live report).
Why did the shares recover?
The reports establish that the shares recovered from their opening levels; they do not establish one verified reason for the move. Business Standard placed the muted debut in the context of valuation concerns, but that is market commentary, not proof that valuation concerns caused the opening or that any particular factor drove the subsequent recovery (Business Standard).

IPO subscription figures provide demand context, but they cannot explain the aftermarket price path by themselves. Business Standard, citing NSE data, reported that the offer was subscribed 28.26 times overall: 40.35 times in the qualified institutional buyer (QIB) category, 18.23 times in the non-institutional investor (NII) category and 7.54 times in the retail category. The subscription period ran from 31 October to 4 November 2025, with the basis of allotment finalized on 6 November, according to that report. Applications during the offer and buying and selling after trading begins are different measures; a heavily subscribed IPO does not guarantee a premium opening or continued gains (Business Standard).
What do the IPO and listing documents establish?
The NSE-archived basis-of-allotment advertisement states an offer price of ₹402 per share, an aggregate offer of ₹72,780.15 million and 181,063,669 shares. NSE’s filing for the year ended 31 March 2026 reports completion of the IPO of 181,058,478 shares and confirms the 10 November 2025 listing. The share counts differ by 5,191; they come from different documents and should not be merged into a single figure. Both documents report the same aggregate offer amount (NSE-archived basis-of-allotment advertisement; NSE filing).

Lenskart’s November 2025 prospectus also cautioned: “No assurance can be given regarding any active and/or sustained trading in the Equity Shares or regarding the price at which the Equity Shares will be traded after listing.” That is a general warning about trading and future price, not an explanation of the first day’s movements (Lenskart prospectus and investor-relations disclosures).

The listing session ended with Lenskart shares marginally above the IPO price after opening below it. The less-than-1% closing premiums were small, and the intraday range reported by Business Standard shows why the closing comparison alone does not describe the session’s risk or price swings. These are historical listing-day figures from 10 November 2025, not a current quote or a buy, sell or hold recommendation.
