Jetstar’s “Return for FREE” sale offers a $0 return Starter fare on selected trips to Seoul, Osaka and Tokyo when you buy an eligible outbound Starter fare. It is not a free round trip: Jetstar’s published outbound examples start at $449, and extras such as checked baggage can add to the total. Public bookings close at 11:59 p.m. AEDT on 9 October 2026, unless the sale sells out earlier.
What Jetstar’s free-return offer includes
Announced on 6 October 2026, the promotion covers selected return itineraries to Seoul (Incheon), Osaka (Kansai) and Tokyo (Narita). Jetstar says 14,000 return fares are available from $0. To qualify, customers must buy an outbound Starter fare and book one eligible return Starter fare at $0. The $0 applies to the qualifying return fare, not the entire trip. Jetstar’s announcement describes the offer; check the official promotion page for applicable fare conditions.
Jetstar gave these outbound Starter fares as examples paired with an eligible free return. They are examples from the announcement, not guaranteed current prices or proof of availability:

These are advertised sale examples from Jetstar’s 6 October 2026 announcement. The final price depends on qualifying flights, dates, availability and applicable fees. The sources do not establish a comparison with regular fares, so the advertised $0 return should not be treated as a quantified saving against another fare.

When to book and when you can travel
The promotion applies to selected travel dates between May and July 2027. Public bookings close at 11:59 p.m. AEDT on Friday, 9 October 2026, unless sold out earlier. Club Jetstar members received 12 hours of early access from midday AEDT on 6 October; that early-access period has ended.
How to find a qualifying $0 return
- Search for an eligible outbound Starter fare on a route and date covered by the promotion.
- Choose the outbound flight, then check the available return flights for one priced at $0 and labelled “Sale.”
- Book the outbound and return together in one booking. They must depart from and return to the same departure port, and both flights must meet the promotion’s route, date and availability conditions.
- Review the full itinerary price and fare rules before paying. The offer allows limited changes; change fees and fare differences may apply. If you cancel the paid flight for a credit voucher under the applicable conditions, the free return is also cancelled.
What can increase the trip’s total cost?
The Starter fare includes one underseat carry-on bag. Checked baggage is not included, and exceeding the baggage allowance may require checking a bag and paying a charge. Priority Carry-on may be available for purchase, subject to availability. Payment fees apply to some methods, including Afterpay and Zip. Optional extras may also affect the total.

For a useful comparison, price the actual outbound and return dates together, including any baggage, seat or meal options you need and applicable payment fees. Also consider airport convenience, seat availability and the offer’s limited change flexibility. A $0 return fare alone does not show whether the itinerary is the lowest-cost option for your plans.
If you plan to travel with only the included underseat bag, check its current size and weight limits against your packing needs. If buying luggage or other extras, confirm the current rules and dimensions in Jetstar’s booking flow; the promotion does not endorse a particular product.
