Inspired by her song “200 Copas,” it ties the bottle’s design and story to the friendship and shared celebration behind the track. Casa Dragones describes it as its first Cristalino expression; the available sources establish a collaboration, not Karol G’s ownership stake or the deal’s financial terms.
What is Karol G’s tequila called?
It is 200 Copas by Casa Dragones. In its September 25, 2025 announcement, Casa Dragones called the product a partnership with Karol G, rather than presenting it as a separate tequila company founded by the singer. The name refers to her song “200 Copas.” The announcement says the project grew from her wish to make something tangible from the song’s theme of friendship and time spent together. Casa Dragones’ announcement
Karol G said the song was inspired by a night with close friends, some of whom appear in its music video, and that tequila was what they were drinking. She said she was already a Casa Dragones fan and wanted to work with co-founder and CEO Bertha González Nieves. Those are the artist’s stated reasons for the collaboration, not details of its commercial terms.
What makes 200 Copas distinctive?
A song-linked bottle and presentation
Casa Dragones’ Mexico product page describes packaging designed around the song: a bonfire beneath a midnight-blue sky, Karol G’s 200 Copas tattoo on the bottle, lyrics inside the box, and signatures from Karol G and González Nieves. The visual details give the release a more specific connection to the song than a name-only endorsement would, though they do not by themselves establish how the partnership is structured. - Liquor Type: Tequila
A new expression for Casa Dragones
Casa Dragones says 200 Copas was its first Cristalino expression. The producer describes it as made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the volcanic soil of Tequila, Jalisco, aged for more than 12 months in custom American oak barrels, then filtered to create a clear appearance. These are the producer’s descriptions of its product and process, not independently verified production findings. The announcement also says batches are limited to no more than 500 cases each. How the brand describes its flavor
On its U.S. product page, Casa Dragones lists citrus, pine, and sweet floral notes in the aroma; creamy almond, sweet roasted agave, and plum on the palate; and honey and spiced wood in the finish. The brand recommends serving it on the rocks. These are Casa Dragones’ tasting notes and serving suggestion, not an independent tasting review. Casa Dragones U.S. product page

What is known—and not known—about the business arrangement?
The public materials describe 200 Copas as a partnership and say Karol G worked with González Nieves. They do not establish whether Karol G owns part of the product or brand, invested in it, receives royalties, or was paid under a particular contract. It is therefore more accurate to call it a collaboration than to label it a celebrity-owned tequila.
Casa Dragones also says its production uses less water and energy and creates less waste than conventional methods. The announcement provides no comparative measurements or methodology, so that statement should be understood as the producer’s claim, not a quantified sustainability comparison.

How to assess the collaboration as a buyer
For a personal-finance decision, separate the story from the purchase. The song connection, signed presentation, and distinctive bottle may matter to someone buying it as a gift or keepsake; they do not establish that the tequila is worth its suggested price to every drinker. Consider the price a retailer actually offers, whether the flavor profile and on-the-rocks recommendation suit your preferences, and whether you value the presentation enough to pay for it. The available information does not support a direct quality or value ranking against other celebrity tequilas.
