Why was the gift described as arriving at a pivotal moment?
The Trevor Project’s announcement said the contribution came at a pivotal moment for the organization and the young people it serves. AP reported contemporaneous pressure: the federally supported 988 Press 3 option for LGBTQ+ callers had ended, and the nonprofit said it lost $25 million in funding connected to that service.
