Lotterywest’s Winners Room is where Division 1 winners claim their prize at Lotterywest Head Office. The visit takes place as part of a formal claim and validation process; the room itself is a celebratory space, but there is no single ceremony that every winner is promised.
What happens in the Lotterywest Winners’ Room?
Lotterywest describes the Winners Room as an exclusive space decorated with archival photographs and memorabilia from its history. A feature published on 27 May 2020 described early tickets, historical Lotto draws and images of past winners. The display was designed to connect the room with Lotterywest’s history and the experience of winning; that dated description does not establish that every item remains unchanged today.
Lotterywest-reported winner stories give a sense of how visits can feel. One woman arrived with her sister and niece after verifying her ticket at the selling store. Another winner said that holding a presentation cheque helped make the win feel real. Those are individual accounts, not a standard itinerary: a presentation cheque, family visit, photograph, media appearance or particular sequence of events is not guaranteed.
In Lotterywest’s 2020 feature, Turner Design’s Sue Mawer described the art feature’s intent: “Apart from creating a sense of celebration, we wanted to add warmth to the room and design a feature that would enhance the interior,” (Lotterywest, 27 May 2020).

Do Lotto WA Division 1 winners have to go to Lotterywest?
Yes. Lotterywest’s current claim instructions say all Division 1 prizes must be claimed at Lotterywest Head Office during office hours. The prize is subject to a 14-day validation period, according to Lotterywest’s claim page accessed 8 October 2026 (Collecting Your Lotterywest Prize).
Lotterywest’s published general deadline is 12 months from the draw date to claim a prize. Do not assume an online or member ticket removes the Division 1 in-person claim: Lotterywest’s automatic-payment information expressly excludes Division 1 prizes (Lotterywest Customer Commitments; claim instructions).

The claim page does not specify whether an appointment is required or which identification documents to bring. Contact Lotterywest directly before travelling to confirm current arrangements. Lotterywest says it cannot pay prizes in cash; a presentation cheque shown in a winner story should not be mistaken for the payment method.
How do online, app and other prizes differ?
Lotterywest’s rules distinguish Division 1 claims from many other prizes. Its customer commitments say member prizes may be paid automatically into an account except for Division 1 prizes and prizes over $100,000. The claim instructions also say online or app prizes are paid to an e-wallet or nominated account, with Division 1 excluded. These automatic-payment descriptions do not replace the Head Office claim requirement for a Division 1 prize.

Can I bring someone with me?
Lotterywest has reported at least one Division 1 winner arriving with her sister and niece, but that story does not establish a general guest policy or visitor limit. The available claim instructions do not state who may accompany a winner. Ask Lotterywest about guests when confirming your visit.
