The phrase can suggest that LCAI might follow a path comparable to XRP’s, but that needs to be broken into testable claims. A shared connection to blockchain tokens is only a broad resemblance; it does not show that the networks serve the same purpose or have comparable adoption, resilience, commercial relationships, or market standing.

Lightchain AI’s official site presents the network as an AI-oriented blockchain built around Proof of Intelligence (PoI) and an Artificial Intelligence Virtual Machine (AIVM). The project describes PoI as a way to reward useful AI computation and AIVM as infrastructure for AI logic and inference workflows. These are descriptions of the intended design, not independent evidence that the network performs AI workloads effectively, has commercial users, or operates at production scale.

LCAI’s stated roles
Lightchain’s tokenomics documentation lists intended roles for LCAI: paying for AI tasks, staking for governance, and unlocking premium AIVM features. Those listed functions should not be read as proof that each feature is currently available or widely used. Check Lightchain’s current official documentation, including the token contract details, before interacting with the asset.
What the May 2026 mainnet launch does—and does not—show
Lightchain’s official mainnet overview says its production network launched at genesis on May 5, 2026, at 12:12:02 UTC, identifies the network with Chain ID 9200, and states a fixed total supply of 10,000,000,000 LCAI. A May 8, 2026 announcement on the project forum also said mainnet was live and linked to an explorer and bridge. These are project-reported launch and network details; a live-network milestone does not by itself demonstrate substantial usage or validated AI output.

The July 2025 mainnet schedule mentioned in Lightchain AI’s July 2, 2025 press release distributed via GlobeNewswire was superseded by the project’s later documentation reporting the May 2026 genesis launch. That same 2025 press release reported that Lightchain AI had raised $21.1 million. This is a company-reported fundraising figure in that release, not an independently audited total established by the reviewed material.

What evidence would make the comparison more meaningful?
A serious comparison would need evidence beyond project descriptions and launch announcements. Useful measures would include independently verifiable network activity, recurring use of the stated token functions, documented AI workloads and their results, security and resilience evidence, and sustained adoption by users or businesses. The reviewed material does not provide a comparable independent statistic for Lightchain’s active users, AI jobs, transaction volume, or adoption versus XRP.
Lightchain’s documentation calls its mainnet “the production network for the Lightchain AI protocol.” That wording is the project’s own characterization; it should not be treated as an independent assessment of production readiness or real-world use. How to read the 2025 claim today
In 2025, the title’s wording was a promotional comparison about a future possibility. As of October 8, 2026, Lightchain’s own materials report that its mainnet launched in May 2026, but the launch does not confirm the larger “next Ripple” claim. On the available evidence, LCAI and XRP are tokens associated with blockchain networks, but their stated purposes differ and their relative adoption or future prospects are not established. No price target or investment conclusion follows from these sources.
