The examination was for Jharkhand paramedical posts, including pharmacist, laboratory technician, X-ray technician and Grade-A nurse. Applications are no longer open; the 2023 in the examination name does not mean the application period began in 2023.
JPMCCE-2023 application dates and status
The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) invited online applications from January 23 through February 22, 2024. The deadline to pay the examination fee was February 26, 2024. These dates have passed, so candidates cannot apply through this recruitment notice. Scroll reported the application dates on January 1, 2024.
The recruitment is called the Jharkhand Paramedical Combined Competitive Examination (JPMCCE)-2023, but the application process took place in 2024. Anyone checking for a later recruitment should rely on the current JSSC notice rather than treat this closed notice as active guidance.
Which posts did the notification cover?
The regular-vacancy brochure lists four roles. It gives pharmacist, laboratory technician and X-ray technician posts Pay Matrix Level 5, and Grade-A nurse posts Pay Matrix Level 7. Requirements and vacancy allocation differ by post and category; candidates should not treat the roles as interchangeable.

Eligibility, age limits and examination fee
Education and registration
Eligibility depended on the post. The brochure ties each role to the relevant professional training and registration: pharmacy training and Jharkhand pharmacy registration for pharmacist; the applicable technician training and Jharkhand paramedical registration for laboratory and X-ray technicians; and GNM training plus Jharkhand nursing registration for Grade-A nurse. Candidates must consult the post-specific wording in the brochure to confirm the exact credential and registration conditions.

Age
The minimum age was 18. The brochure’s listed upper limits vary by category: 35 for unreserved and EWS candidates, 37 for specified backward-class male candidates, 38 for specified women categories, and 40 for SC/ST candidates. It also addresses further relaxations. The applicable cutoff date, category definitions and any additional relaxation should be checked in the official brochure rather than inferred from these summary limits.
Fee
The listed examination fee was ₹100, reduced to ₹50 for Jharkhand SC/ST candidates. The brochure also provides a fee exemption for qualifying Jharkhand candidates with benchmark disability, subject to its criteria. These were the fees stated in the 2024 recruitment brochure, not a fee schedule for later JSSC examinations.

How many vacancies were reported?
Scroll reported 2,532 vacancies for JPMCCE-2023. The official regular-vacancy brochure separately refers to 47 backlog vacancies under advertisement 21/2023; some contemporaneous reports instead gave a figure of 2,485. The figures should be read in the context of the recruitment components being counted, not treated as competing totals for an identical vacancy list. The brochure and Scroll report are the relevant references for the regular recruitment and the separately referenced backlog notice.
How the 2024 application process worked
Applications were submitted online through the JSSC-directed examination website. The brochure described a sequence involving registration, login, fee payment, photo and signature upload, final submission and retaining a printout for reference. This is a record of the closed 2024 process, not a route to apply now.
- Register online through the application route specified by JSSC.
- Log in to the account created during registration and complete the application details.
- Pay the applicable examination fee by the stated deadline.
- Upload the required photograph and signature, then submit the completed form.
- Keep a printout of the submitted application for reference.
The notice states that eligibility documents may be checked later. Receiving an admit card does not by itself prove that a candidate meets the requirements for appointment; candidates remained responsible for satisfying the brochure’s conditions.

For the recruitment’s post-wise terms, age and fee provisions, use the JSSC JPMCCE-2023 regular-vacancy brochure. The application window and dates are also summarized in Scroll’s January 1, 2024 announcement. Neither source makes this closed application period current; later recruitment details require a later JSSC notice.
