The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) announced the Jharkhand Intermediate Level (Computer Knowledge and Hindi Typing) Combined Competitive Examination 2023, commonly called JIS(CKHT)CCE-2023. Scroll reported the notification on October 9, 2023, with 863 vacancies across Jharkhand government departments. The 863 figure describes the recruitment notification, not posts currently open for applications.
What were the eligibility requirements?
Contemporaneous reporting summarized the educational requirement as Intermediate (10+2) from a recognized board or institute. It also reported an age range of 18–35 years as of August 1, 2023, with upper-age relaxation for reserved categories. That range is not a universal rule: the recruitment brochure sets out category-specific limits and concessions. Applicants would have needed to check the conditions for their category, domicile and post, along with any later official corrigendum.

The brochure is labeled for regular vacancies and describes computer-based Hindi typing and, for stenography posts, shorthand and typing skills. Exact speed thresholds and passage conditions depend on the relevant post and category; consult the applicable brochure provisions rather than assuming one test standard applies to every vacancy. The application schedule changed over time. The initial window ran from October 21 to November 19, 2023. Applications later reopened in July 2024. Scroll initially reported an August 10, 2024 closing date and an August 18–20 correction window; a subsequent report said the deadline was extended.

What fees were reported?
The original notification coverage listed an examination fee of ₹100, or ₹50 for SC/ST candidates. The brochure contains further fee terms for particular categories, so those two figures should not be treated as a complete or universal fee schedule. The relevant advertisement and subsequent notices govern the applicable amount.
