Why other widely repeated figures do not fit the ranking
Chris Evans and the five-film range
GameSpot’s 2019 coverage, citing The Hollywood Reporter, described a $15 million to $20 million range for a five-film deal involving Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans. Forbes listed Downey’s annual earnings at $75 million in its 2013 highest-paid actors coverage. The figure describes yearly earnings, not one Marvel film or Marvel-only compensation. What a “biggest Marvel paycheck” can mean
Actor compensation can include upfront salary as well as backend or profit participation, and entertainment coverage does not always specify which components a figure includes. That makes a neat ranking misleading when one entry is a per-film range, another is a combined producing-and-acting figure, and another is only an annual earnings estimate.
