Luka Dončić reportedly paid $25 million for Maria Sharapova’s former home in Manhattan Beach, California. Architectural Digest reported that the off-market sale closed at the end of August 2025. The custom-designed residence is known for its minimalist, Japanese-inspired architecture, infinity pool and two-lane bowling alley.
What is reported about the sale?
Architectural Digest reported on September 16, 2025, that Dončić bought the property for $25 million in an off-market transaction that closed at the end of August. The report said the purchase was made through a trust tied to Dončić’s brand manager, Lara Beth Seager. These are published reports; the deed was not reviewed, so the price and transaction details should be understood as reported rather than independently confirmed here. Architectural Digest’s report
Where is the home, and what is its reported size?
The residence is in Manhattan Beach, California, a coastal city roughly 20 miles from Los Angeles, according to Architectural Digest. Coverage describes an ocean-view property. Its reported area is not consistent: Architectural Digest gives roughly 8,000 square feet, while The Sporting Tribune search-result extract says more than 8,600 square feet. Because the figures differ and the latter article could not be accessed, there is no single confirmed area to cite. The Sporting Tribune’s report
What does the property include?
Architectural Digest describes a five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home with an infinity swimming pool, extensive outdoor space and a lounge with a fireplace. The interior features bare concrete wall panels, black metal window and door frames, multiple balconies and a double-height foyer with a floating staircase. A two-lane bowling alley is located in the basement beside a media room.

In remarks from a 2019 Architectural Digest interview reproduced by Tennis.com, Sharapova described taking a hands-on role: “I’d jump off a plane from a tournament and go straight to the worksite or to the architect’s office or to a kitchen manufacturer. This was my project, and I wasn’t going to delegate any part of it.”

Architectural Digest reported that Sharapova listed the property in July 2025 and, citing The Wall Street Journal, said she and fiancé Alexander Gilkes were parting with it to spend more time in Europe and at their Florida home. Tennis.com also reported that they wanted to spend more time in Europe with their son. That explanation is attributed to published coverage, not presented as a direct statement about the sale from Sharapova or Dončić.
