Yes: the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) warns that Quanta North and quantanorth.com are a clone firm, not an authorised financial firm. The FCA says it has been contacting people while pretending to be an authorised firm. Do not send it money or personal information. Check the FCA’s live Firm Checker and warning before acting.

What the FCA says about Quanta North

The FCA warning, first published on 26 June 2026 and updated on 14 July 2026, names “Quanta North/quantanorth.com (clone of FCA authorised firm).” The regulator states: “This firm is not authorised by us but has been contacting people pretending to be an authorised firm.” Read the FCA warning.

A clone firm copies details of a genuine authorised firm to make itself appear legitimate. The FCA warning lists quantanorth.com as the website used by the clone, but warns that scammers may use false or mixed contact details and change them over time. Don’t rely on contact information supplied by someone claiming to represent Quanta North, or use details in an old message to verify who contacted you.

Quanta North is not the same as North Asset Management LLP

The firm whose identity the clone claims is North Asset Management LLP, firm reference number (FRN) 216765. The FCA identifies it as the genuine authorised firm and says it has “no connection with the clone firm.” That distinction matters: the regulator’s warning is about Quanta North/quantanorth.com, not an allegation that North Asset Management LLP is the clone.

To verify a firm, search for it yourself in the FCA Firm Checker. Compare the firm’s name, FRN, permitted services, website and contact details with the information shown there. Don’t use a link or phone number provided by an unsolicited caller or message as your starting point.

What to do if Quanta North has contacted you

  1. Stop the conversation. Don’t transfer money, share identity or account information, or install software at the caller’s request.
  2. Verify independently. Use the FCA Firm Checker and the regulator’s warning list. Confirm the firm and its contact details through the regulator’s own records, not through the person who contacted you.
  3. If you meant to contact North Asset Management LLP, use only the details shown for that firm in the live FCA records. Do not assume a message from someone using the clone’s name came from the genuine firm.
  4. If you have already paid or shared information, contact your bank or payment provider promptly using a trusted number, explain what happened, and ask what steps you can take to protect your account or attempt recovery. Keep messages and payment records, and report the contact to the relevant authorities.

What protection is missing if you deal with a clone?

The FCA says consumers who deal with this clone will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service to complain and will not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if things go wrong. The regulator warns that recovery is unlikely if the firm goes out of business. These protections are not a substitute for checking authorisation and the specific services a firm is permitted to provide before sending money.

What this warning does—and does not—establish

The FCA alert establishes that the regulator identifies Quanta North/quantanorth.com as an unauthorised clone that has been contacting people while pretending to be an authorised firm. It does not, by itself, establish a particular person’s losses, a total loss figure, a criminal conviction, or whether the website is currently operating. The FCA says clone firms may change their details, so consult the live warning and Firm Checker when verifying any contact.
