Space-sector investing is available through several very different routes: publicly listed securities, specialist private venture funds, accelerators and investor networks. They are not interchangeable, and most private-fund and institutional-network routes are not open to every retail investor. The right place to start is the access route you can actually use, then the companies and risks it exposes you to.
What counts as a space investment platform?
“Space technology” can cover more than rockets and satellites. The European Space Policy Institute’s Space Venture 2025 report, published in April 2026, distinguishes upstream activity—building, launching and operating space systems—from downstream businesses that use space capabilities or data in products and services. ESPI’s report is one useful way to understand why two platforms using the same sector label may invest in very different businesses.
Space Capital uses a three-part framework of Infrastructure, Distribution and Applications. Its Space IQ report tracks private investment across those layers; the firm says it has published the report quarterly since 2017 and manually curates information from more than 3,000 companies, requiring multiple confirmations before adding a data point. Those are Space Capital’s descriptions of its own research and methodology, not independently audited findings established here. Space Capital’s overview
Compare the available routes
| Route | What it does | Who it may suit | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Listed security | Offers exposure through a publicly traded company or fund; Seraphim identifies its Seraphim Space Investment Trust (SSIT) as its public-market component. | Investors who can access the security through a brokerage in their jurisdiction. | Current listing, holdings, exchange access, prospectus and other disclosures. Seraphim’s platform description does not establish current terms or universal availability. |
| Private venture fund | Invests in private companies, often at early or growth stages. | Eligible investors who meet the fund’s requirements and can accept the fund’s terms. | Eligibility, offering documents, minimums, fees, liquidity, geography and fund status. These terms are not comparable from the platform pages reviewed. |
| Accelerator | Supports startup founders and companies rather than functioning as a general-purpose retail investment account. | Founders seeking company support; investors may encounter companies through the broader ecosystem. | Programme criteria and whether any investment opportunity is separately offered. |
| Investor network | Introduces investors and financial institutions to companies and programmes and can support investment diligence. | Investors and institutions who qualify for the network’s membership process. | Membership fit, onboarding, opportunity terms and any separate investment documents. |

Seraphim Space: funds, accelerator and listed trust
Seraphim describes a connected platform spanning venture funds, the Seraphim Space Accelerator and the Seraphim Space Investment Trust. It says it supports founders from pre-seed to IPO and may lead or co-invest. That breadth does not mean every component is available to every investor: a venture fund, an accelerator and a listed trust each have different purposes and access conditions. Check the current listing disclosures for SSIT and the official documents for any private offering. Seraphim’s platform overview

ESA Investor Network: introductions and diligence support
The European Space Agency’s Investor Network connects investors and financial institutions with space companies and ESA programmes. ESA says the network distributes investment opportunities and provides technical advisory, market insight, due-diligence access and dedicated investor meetings. Its stated support spans companies from pre-seed to Series C. This is a matchmaking and support network—not a pooled retail fund or brokerage account. Membership is reviewed for fit and, if onboarding proceeds, formalized through a memorandum of understanding. ESA Investor Network
ESA’s current page reports 100+ investors and 150+ companies supported, and identifies 2022 as the network’s founding year. These are ESA-reported figures, not proof of investment outcomes or a guarantee of access to any particular opportunity. ESA’s network information

How to assess a platform before investing
- Identify the legal access route. Determine whether you are looking at a listed security, a private fund, an accelerator relationship or a membership network. Only the first is inherently a public-market route, and brokerage access still depends on the investor’s jurisdiction.
- Check eligibility and official documents. For a private fund, read its offering documents and confirm who may invest. For a listed security, review current exchange and issuer disclosures. For a network, understand its membership process and whether introductions lead to separate offers.
- Map the actual exposure. See whether holdings or opportunities focus on upstream infrastructure, launch and satellite systems, data distribution, or downstream applications such as geospatial services. Sector labels alone do not establish what a portfolio owns.
- Establish liquidity and time horizon. Private venture investments and listed securities are structurally different, but the pages covered here do not provide a comparable liquidity dataset. Check the relevant fund documents or listing disclosures for dealing, redemption, lock-up and trading details.
- Compare costs and geography from current documents. The reviewed platform pages do not establish comparable fees, minimum investments or geographic availability. Ask for the current figures that apply to your location and investor status; do not assume a requirement from another fund or jurisdiction applies.
- Separate business activity from investment performance. Company counts, assets under management, accelerator fundraising totals and research publications describe activity, not the returns an investor received. Look for dated portfolio information and comparable, audited performance data before making performance claims.
What these platforms do not establish
The platforms’ sector focus does not guarantee diversification or superior returns. Space businesses can differ sharply by stage, technology, customer base and route to market, and a narrowly focused investment may concentrate rather than spread risk. The information cited here does not establish a universal minimum investment, fee schedule, eligibility rule, liquidity term or geographic availability. Those details must come from the current offering documents, issuer disclosures and applicable local requirements.
No comparable, audited performance dataset is established here for ranking these providers by returns. Treat AUM, network size and accelerator fundraising figures as dated, provider-reported measures—not as a basis for choosing an investment on expected returns.
