Inspired Property Group Pty Ltd, which traded as Inspired Homes, entered voluntary administration on 1 April 2025, with at least 87 building projects in progress, according to the WA Government. The company is now listed as being in liquidation. Homeowners with an Inspired Property Group contract and home indemnity insurance should contact QBE to discuss their policy and possible claim; the general guidance does not determine any individual homeowner’s eligibility or payout.
What happened to Inspired Homes?
Inspired Property Group Pty Ltd (ACN 133 554 748), trading as Inspired Homes, appointed external administrators on 1 April 2025. The WA Government said at the time it understood the company had at least 87 building projects in progress. The regulator’s announcement gave affected customers advice about insurance and next steps.
The company first entered voluntary administration; its later status is liquidation. McGrathNicol’s creditor page currently lists Inspired Property Group’s administration type as “Liquidation” and names Rob Kirman and Rob Brauer as appointees. The public notices do not establish the outcome of an individual homeowner’s claim, the amount creditors will recover, or a completion date for all unfinished projects.
What should affected homeowners do?
Contact QBE about home indemnity insurance
The WA regulator advised customers who had contracts and home indemnity insurance policies with Inspired Property Group to contact QBE about arrangements. Its guidance says lodging a claim enables homeowners to begin the process of engaging another registered builder to complete the work or pursuing other remedies they may be entitled to. This is a route to discuss a claim, not a guarantee of acceptance, a particular remedy or a payout.

ABC News reported on 2 April 2025 that affected customers could access home indemnity insurance payments of up to $200,000 to hire a new building company. Treat that as the maximum reported by ABC, not a universal entitlement: coverage and eligibility depend on the individual policy and circumstances. The regulator’s guidance directs policyholders to QBE to discuss their own position.
Get independent advice about the contract
Administrator Rob Kirman recommended that homeowners seek independent legal advice about their contractual rights. Insurance and contract rights are distinct: the public announcement does not determine which remedies apply to a particular customer.

Why did the company say it collapsed?
ABC News reported that Inspired Homes attributed its difficulties to shortages of materials and workers, rising costs from subcontractors and suppliers, and the challenge of operating sustainably under fixed-price contracts. That is the company’s stated explanation, not an independent finding of the cause of its collapse. It should also be distinguished from the later tribunal matter involving conduct connected to four specific homes.
What happened in the later tribunal matter?
In a release first published on 23 March 2026, WA Building and Energy said the State Administrative Tribunal reprimanded former director and nominated supervisor Vasko Spaseski and fined him $33,000, with $3,648 in costs, following mediation on disciplinary allegations.

The matter concerned four two-storey homes in Cockburn, Riverton, Ardross and Beeliar. The regulator said inspections found defective work involving roof structures at Cockburn and Beeliar, fall prevention at Cockburn, Riverton and Beeliar, and support of major sections of the house at Ardross. It also said the mediated facts included failures to properly manage and supervise building services and misleading conduct concerning progress payments at the Cockburn and Beeliar projects. These findings relate to the tribunal matter and those four homes; they do not establish that every Inspired Homes project had the same defects or conduct.

A May 2026 answer in the WA Parliament said Inspired Homes had been contracted to deliver six timber-framed townhouses. After the company entered voluntary administration, DevelopmentWA reclaimed the site and sought a replacement builder. The new builder’s due diligence included detailed investigations; independent engineering and building assessments identified issues and recommended demolition and reconstruction. The parliamentary answer anticipated practical completion in Q3 2027. That was a forecast at the time of the answer, not confirmation of completion, and applies to that project alone.
