The deal closed on April 30, 2025, and was announced the next day. Instacart said Wynshop’s capabilities would strengthen Storefront Pro and, over time, help extend its enterprise solutions to more retail partners; those were announced plans, not confirmation that every integration has since been completed.
What Instacart acquired
Instacart acquired 100% of Marlin9 Holdings, Inc., which operates as Wynshop. The company described Wynshop as an e-commerce solutions provider for grocers and retailers. In its announcement, Instacart named Wakefern and Pattison among Wynshop’s customers and said the platform served more than a dozen additional retailers across North America and abroad.
The announcement said Wynshop would initially operate as a wholly owned subsidiary. It did not provide a feature-by-feature account of how Wynshop’s products would be combined with Instacart’s existing services.

What Instacart said the deal would add
Instacart framed the acquisition as a way to build on retailer relationships, add capabilities to Storefront Pro and eventually offer its enterprise solutions to more partners. Chief Business Officer Chris Rogers said the company was “adding new capabilities to Storefront Pro” and aiming to bring its enterprise solutions to more partners over time. Wynshop CEO Neil Moses described the transaction as an opportunity to scale Wynshop’s impact and accelerate innovation. These statements explain management’s rationale; they do not independently establish product performance or completed integration.
Instacart’s SEC filing describes its Enterprise platform as an end-to-end technology offering spanning e-commerce, fulfillment, Connected Stores, advertising and marketing, and insights. It says retailers can reach customers through their own online storefronts powered by the platform. That context helps explain the strategic fit: Wynshop’s e-commerce solutions could complement Instacart’s broader retail technology offer. It does not show that every Wynshop capability has been incorporated across every part of the platform.

What the deal does—and does not—tell retailers
For grocers and retailers, the announced direction was about technology and access to enterprise tools, rather than a stated change to consumer grocery ordering. Instacart identified existing Wynshop customers and outlined an intention to expand its solutions to more partners, but the announcement and filings cited here do not establish current standalone branding, specific product availability after the acquisition, or customer outcomes.
Accordingly, the strongest supported conclusion is that Instacart bought a retailer-focused e-commerce provider and presented the acquisition as a way to broaden its enterprise capabilities. Whether a particular retailer can use a given Wynshop feature, or how that feature has been integrated since closing, requires current product information from Instacart or the retailer.
