The “apply now for 741 posts” headline was accurate only on that date; it is not a current vacancy notice. The Ministry of Defence later cancelled the exam scheduled for 10–14 September 2024 and said it would be rescheduled, but the notice did not give a new date. The later exam and recruitment outcome are not confirmed by the sources available here.
Is Indian Navy INCET 01/2024 still open?
No. Applications for this recruitment cycle closed on 2 August 2024. Scroll.in reported 741 vacancies in its article published that day, but that figure describes the historical drive, not posts currently open for applications. Scroll.in’s 2 August 2024 report is the source for the headline date and vacancy figure.
INCET 01/2024 was a recruitment drive for Indian Navy civilian staff, covering Group B (non-gazetted) and Group C roles. The advertised roles could involve postings anywhere in India, according to administrative requirements. The advertisement copy describing this scope is hosted by a third party, so check an official Navy notice for any detailed post or eligibility information.
What happened to the scheduled exam?
The online examination had been scheduled to take place across India from 10 to 14 September 2024. On 9 September 2024, the Ministry of Defence announced its cancellation, stating: “Due to unforeseen technical and administrative reasons, the exam has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.” The notice did not provide a replacement date. #1 Best Overall
The cancellation notice establishes that the original exam dates were cancelled and that the Ministry intended to reschedule the exam. It does not establish whether a later exam took place or what the final recruitment outcome was. Do not treat the cancellation as proof that the recruitment was completed, abandoned, or remains underway.
Where to check current Indian Navy vacancies
For opportunities that are open now, use the official Join Indian Navy recruitment portal and look for a current notice. Check the notice itself for its deadline, posts and command, eligibility, pay level, selection stages, and application route. The portal is the place to check current notices; it does not, by itself, establish the final status of INCET 01/2024.
