Infosys publishes distinct information for programs such as Power Programmers and HackWithInfy, and its sample coding assessment is specifically labeled for Specialist Programmer (SP) and Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE). Use the material below to prepare by hiring track and skill area, then follow the instructions in your own invitation.
First identify which Infosys hiring track applies
Readers often ask, “What questions are asked in the Infosys SDE interview?” or “What is the Infosys SP/DSE coding assessment like?” Those are useful ways to describe the candidate question, not official names for one standardized hiring process.
| Track or material | What the official information establishes | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Power Programmers | Infosys describes coding rounds at different levels, followed by hands-on live coding interviews with technologists. Infosys Power Programmers | Prepare for coding at more than one level and for explaining solutions during a live interview. This description is for the Power Programmers program, not every Infosys role. |
| HackWithInfy 2026 | The 2026 page describes a virtual first round and a face-to-face coding round. Participation offers a chance at pre-placement interview opportunities for Specialist Programmer and other specialized-unit roles; the page also points to preparatory live sessions. HackWithInfy | Check the current cycle details and treat an interview opportunity as a possibility, not a guaranteed outcome. |
| SP/DSE sample assessment | Infosys provides an official sample PDF labeled for SP/DSE. It contains four algorithmic problem descriptions. SP/DSE sample coding assessment | Use it to understand the style and breadth of sample problems, not to predict the next test or assume every SDE applicant takes it. |
Candidate accounts cover different roles and hiring contexts. Their question counts and mixes vary, so confirm the role, campus or off-campus process, language requirements and current instructions in your own application materials.
What the official SP/DSE sample covers
The sample assessment is more useful as a guide to the kind of problem-solving to practice than as a list of questions likely to recur. Its four tasks cover distinct algorithmic ideas:

- Careercup, Easy To Read
- Condition : Good
- Compact for travelling
- A tree problem involving pairs whose product is a perfect square.
- A GCD subsequence problem with updates.
- A longest non-decreasing subsequence constrained by XOR.
- A tree-edge flipping problem involving pattern matching.
Together, these examples make trees, number theory and GCD, subsequences, bitwise XOR, dynamic programming and careful problem decomposition sensible preparation areas. They do not establish fixed topic weights, a guaranteed question mix or a forecast of a future assessment.
How to practice from the sample
- Read each statement closely and identify the input, operations, constraints and required output before choosing an algorithm.
- Work through a small example by hand, then consider edge cases such as the smallest input, repeated values, updates that change the answer, and tree shapes with very different structures.
- Choose an approach that fits the constraints. Be ready to explain its time and space complexity, not only show code that passes a small example.
- Practice under a time limit, then review failed cases and whether the approach can be made more efficient.
- In a live interview, explain your reasoning as you develop the solution and test it against examples.
These are preparation recommendations based on the sample and the described coding assessments; Infosys does not publish them as an official scoring rubric in the cited materials.

What candidate interview reports say—and what they cannot promise
Self-reported interview collections mention data structures and algorithms as well as DBMS, OOP, SQL, projects and, in some accounts, system design or development topics. AmbitionBox’s SDE interview collection was updated on 2025-01-23 and includes examples such as count inversions and binary-tree boundary traversal. AmbitionBox Infosys SDE interview questions
Individual community accounts also describe differing combinations of coding questions, project discussion, fundamentals and role-specific topics. These are reports of particular candidates’ experiences, not Infosys policy; they may be stale or specific to one role or hiring cycle. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Build a role-specific preparation sheet
A practical sheet should separate verified process information from general preparation and anecdotal examples. Organize it around these areas:
- Your hiring track: Record the role named in the application or invitation and whether the process is for a general SDE/System Engineer position, SP/DSE, Power Programmers or HackWithInfy.
- Assessment format: Note whether your current instructions specify an online coding test, a contest-style round, or a live interview. Do not assume another track’s format applies to yours.
- Algorithms: Review core data structures and algorithms, then include the deeper sample themes—trees, GCD, subsequences, XOR and dynamic programming—if preparing for SP/DSE.
- Fundamentals: Revise OOP, DBMS and SQL; candidate accounts mention these, but no single combination is assured.
- Your projects: Be prepared to describe your contribution, technical choices and trade-offs. Reports include project discussion, but the exact emphasis can vary.
- Role-specific development: Add relevant development or system-design topics only where they fit the advertised position and your own hiring instructions; these appear in some reports, not as a universal requirement.
Use Infosys’s Power Programmers page, the current HackWithInfy cycle page and the SP/DSE sample for track-specific official context. Treat candidate reports as supplementary examples rather than an exam blueprint.
