Applications ran from 29 March to 10 April 2025, with corrections allowed 14–16 April. This guide explains the eligibility, test, selection process and service terms in that notice; anyone planning for a future intake should check the current Join Indian Navy website for its separate dates and rules.
Is the Agniveer SSR 2025–26 application still open?
No. The application window for the three batches covered by the 2025 notice has ended. As of 8 October 2026, the Join Indian Navy homepage showed a later Agniveer INET 2026 application as closed and Stage-II call-ups issued for the 1/27 batch. That later recruitment is a separate cycle; do not use the 2025 dates or requirements as a substitute for its notice. Check the official Join Indian Navy homepage for current recruitment notices.
Who was eligible to apply?
The 2025 notice invited unmarried Indian male and female candidates. Applicants needed to meet one of three education routes, each with at least 50% aggregate marks:
- Class 12 (10+2) with Mathematics and Physics.
- A three-year diploma in a listed engineering field from a recognized polytechnic.
- A two-year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics as non-vocational subjects.
Candidates appearing in the 2024–25 Class 12 board examinations could apply if they met the other criteria. To proceed through selection, they had to provide the original marksheet and meet the required aggregate and subject marks. The notice did not accept an internet copy of the marksheet.

Age limits depended on the batch
The birth-date windows below are inclusive and apply to the named batch:
| Batch | Eligible date of birth |
|---|---|
| 01/2026 | 1 February 2005 to 31 July 2008 |
| 02/2026 | 1 July 2005 to 31 December 2008 |
The notice also gave a broader date-of-birth range of 1 September 2004 to 31 December 2008 for applying to INET 2025. That did not replace the separate batch-specific age limits for Stage II, so candidates needed to meet the range for their chosen batch.

How the application and fee worked
For this historical cycle, the Stage-I INET application period was 29 March–10 April 2025. The correction window ran 14–16 April 2025. Candidates paid ₹550 plus 18% GST online using net banking, Visa, MasterCard, RuPay or UPI. The Indian Navy stated that the fee was non-refundable, admit cards would be issued only after successful payment, and no separate fee was payable for Stage II. These were the rules in the 2025 notice; a future intake may set different dates, payment methods or fees.
What was the INET exam format?
The Stage-I Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) was a computer-based, objective multiple-choice examination in Hindi and English. The 2025 notice specified 100 questions worth one mark each, a one-hour duration and a 10+2 standard. It covered four sections:

- English
- Science
- Mathematics
- General Awareness
The notice directed candidates to the Navy recruitment website and agniveernavy.cdac.in for the syllabus and sample papers. Use the official material for preparation rather than assuming that a guide for another entry or year matches this exam.
What happened after Stage I?
Selection proceeded through Stage-I INET, state-wise shortlisting based on Stage-I marks, then the Stage-II written examination, physical fitness test (PFT) and recruitment medical. Stage-II call-up timing varied by batch. The notice said dates were tentative and exact dates would be announced on the Candidates Registration Portal; induction was listed at INS Chilka.

The 2025 notice’s accessible details do not establish the SSR-specific PFT standards or a complete document checklist. Candidates should follow the requirements in their own call-up instructions and the applicable official notice, rather than relying on standards or document lists from MR, an older SSR intake or another cycle.

The notice set out the following monthly package figures for the four-year engagement. It allocated 70% of the package in hand and 30% to the Agniveer Corpus Fund, with a matching Government contribution to the corpus.

Best Value
| Year of engagement | Monthly package listed in the notice |
|---|---|
| Year 1 | ₹30,000 |
| Year 2 | ₹33,000 |
| Year 3 | ₹36,500 |
| Year 4 | ₹40,000 |
Over four years, the notice reported a ₹5.02 lakh Agniveer contribution and a matching ₹5.02 lakh Government contribution, for a total corpus of ₹10.04 lakh. It stated there was no gratuity or pension entitlement and specified non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh during the engagement period. These figures describe the terms in the 2025 advertisement, not necessarily the terms of a later recruitment.
Regular-cadre enrolment was not guaranteed
After completing four years, Agniveers could be offered an opportunity to apply for regular-cadre enrolment, subject to organizational requirements and Navy policy. The notice did not promise a permanent appointment.
What to check before applying in a future cycle
Use the new intake’s official notice as the controlling source: eligibility, age ranges, exam pattern, application fee, dates and service terms can change. Before submitting an application, compare your qualification route, recognized board or institute, aggregate marks and required subjects against that notice, then check your date of birth against the specific batch and confirm any marital-status condition.
