Rapido’s unicorn milestone came in July 2024, when the Indian ride-hailing company raised $120 million in a Series E round led by WestBridge Capital. The post-money valuation was reported at a little over $1 billion, based on an estimate attributed to Entrackr—not a valuation announced directly by Rapido. A later report put the company’s valuation at $1.1 billion in February 2025, so the $1 billion figure is a historical milestone, not a confirmed current valuation.
What happened in Rapido’s $120 million funding round?
Rapido raised $120 million in a Series E funding round in July 2024, with WestBridge Capital leading the investment, according to TechCrunch’s July 29, 2024 report and Business Standard’s July 29, 2024 report.
Business Standard, citing Entrackr’s reporting on regulatory filings, said Rapido’s board approved share allotments worth ₹1,002 crore, or about $120 million, at an issue price of ₹52,467 per share. Those filing details explain the reported size of the round; they do not mean that each Rapido share was worth ₹52,467 on a public stock exchange.
How was Rapido’s valuation estimated?
Business Standard reported Entrackr’s estimate of a ₹8,517 crore post-money valuation—just over $1 billion—following the Series E. “Post-money” means the estimated company value after the new investment is included. The figure was reported as an estimate based on filings, not as a direct valuation statement from Rapido.

A funding-round valuation is a private-market reference tied to a particular transaction. It is not the same as a publicly traded share price, a guaranteed sale price for the company, or a figure that necessarily remains unchanged as the business and investment conditions evolve.
How did the 2024 round compare with Rapido’s earlier funding?
Rapido’s previous major round was a Series D in April 2022, led by Swiggy. TechCrunch reported $180 million raised at an $800 million valuation; Business Standard put the prior valuation at $830 million. The publications therefore differ modestly on that round’s valuation.
Rank #2
| Round | Reported funding | Reported valuation | Lead investor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Series D, April 2022 | $180 million, as reported by TechCrunch | $800 million, according to TechCrunch; $830 million, according to Business Standard | Swiggy, according to the reports |
| Series E, July 2024 | $120 million, or ₹1,002 crore, according to Business Standard’s reporting on filings | ₹8,517 crore, a little over $1 billion, estimated by Entrackr as reported by Business Standard | WestBridge Capital |
The $120 million was the amount raised in the Series E, not Rapido’s lifetime funding total. TechCrunch said the company had raised about $430 million in total as of its July 2024 report; that total has differed across contemporaneous reports.
What does Rapido do?
Founded in 2015, Rapido is an Indian mobility and ride-hailing platform. It is known for bike taxis, and reporting on the 2024 funding round also described auto-rickshaw and cab services. Business Standard reported that Rapido operated in more than 100 Indian cities in July 2024; that is a dated report, not a current coverage count.

What happened to Rapido’s valuation after 2024?
In February 2025, The Economic Times reported that Prosus invested nearly $30 million (₹250 crore) in Rapido at a $1.1 billion valuation. That later reported figure indicates that the $1 billion milestone was not the last valuation reported in the sources cited here. It does not establish Rapido’s valuation as of October 2026.
