The Los Feliz house described in Architectural Digest India’s 2018 tour was reportedly purchased by Scarlett Johansson and then-husband Romain Dauriac in 2014 for $3.88 million. The magazine’s “$3 million” headline is a rounded figure, not the reported transaction price. The home was described as a 3,500-square-foot, 1940s residence with four bedrooms and six bathrooms.
Which Los Angeles home does the $3 million headline refer to?
It refers to the Los Feliz residence Johansson bought with Romain Dauriac in 2014, not the separate Wong House she had owned with Ryan Reynolds. Architectural Digest India’s 2018 feature used “$3 million” in its headline but reported the purchase price as $3.88 million in the article. Architectural Digest India’s 2018 tour is the source for the price and the home details below.
The distinction matters because Johansson’s earlier Wong House was another Los Feliz property, purchased in 2010 and sold in 2012. It was a different house with a different design, size and room count; its features should not be attributed to the 2014 residence.
What was the house like?
The 2018 tour described a two-story house built in the 1940s, with about 3,500 square feet of interior space. It reported four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. The property was set behind a secured gate on nearly an acre at the end of a cul-de-sac in Los Feliz.

What stood out in the published home tour?
The upstairs primary suite was described as having a sitting area with a fireplace, a walk-in closet, a skylit bathroom and a balcony with a view of the Hollywood sign. The tour also showed a narrow veranda and landscaped outdoor areas, including a lawn, small dining terrace, built-in grill, swimming pool, eight-person spa and poolside cabana.

What is known about ownership—and what is not?
Architectural Digest’s 2023 retrospective reported that Johansson still owned the property at that time. That is a dated ownership report, not confirmation that she owns or lives in the house in 2026. No current ownership status or present-day valuation is established here. Architectural Digest’s 2023 retrospective also discusses her separate earlier Los Angeles property.

How the Wong House differs
The Wong House, the earlier Los Feliz residence Johansson shared with Ryan Reynolds, was reportedly purchased in 2010 for $2.9 million and sold in 2012 for $3.5 million. The Los Angeles Times described it as a restored late-1960s Buff & Hensman design with two bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,835 square feet. It had glass walls, a pool, a walled garden and views of downtown Los Angeles and the ocean. Those particulars belong to the Wong House, not the 2014 home. The Los Angeles Times’ Wong House coverage and Architectural Digest’s later retrospective identify it separately.

In a 2011 Interview magazine feature, Johansson said, “When I’m not working or promoting something, I try to be as under-the-radar as I can.” Architectural Digest quoted the remark in its 2023 retrospective. It speaks to her general preference for privacy; it was not a comment about this house.
