There is not enough dated evidence to identify a defensible list of Amazon Basics products that were “top-rated” in 2022. Amazon’s official 2022 announcements reviewed here cover best-selling products and categories, not Amazon Basics customer-rating rankings. A current bestseller rank cannot fill that historical gap.
Why a 2022 “top-rated” list cannot be verified
“Top-rated” needs a defined measure—typically customer star ratings—and a date, marketplace, and product variant. The available sources do not provide a 2022 Amazon Basics ranking, ratings, or review counts using such a measure. Without those records, naming products as the year’s top-rated would imply evidence that has not been established.
Amazon’s Prime Day 2022 roundup names popular categories and brands, including beauty, Apple Watch, diapers and wipes, kitchen essentials, toys, and pet products; it does not identify top-rated Amazon Basics products. Amazon’s November 30, 2022 holiday announcement names best-selling items such as Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick, and Apple AirPods, but likewise does not establish Amazon Basics ratings or rankings.
Top-rated is not the same as best-selling
A star rating describes customer feedback; a sales rank or best-seller label describes sales performance within a category and time period. They are not interchangeable. Amazon’s seller listing guidance discusses bestseller labels and review counts, but does not supply a dated 2022 Amazon Basics ranking. A list based on sales would need to be labeled “best-selling,” not “top-rated.”

What current Amazon data can—and cannot—tell you
Amazon’s current Health & Household bestseller page lists Amazon Basics 48-pack AA alkaline batteries at number 2 in the category as retrieved for this article. That is a volatile present-day sales rank, not evidence of a leading 2022 rank or a top customer rating. It is a product-discovery example only, not a historical recommendation or a hands-on test result.

A reliable 2022 list would need archived or otherwise dated product records from the relevant Amazon marketplace. For each candidate, compare the customer star rating, number of reviews, capture date, and exact product variant. If the intended metric is sales rank, use dated rank records instead and describe the results as best-selling. Amazon’s creator handbook does not establish historical product ratings or a ranking methodology.
