Who was eligible to apply?
Age and post-qualification experience were calculated as of 1 December 2024. The age and experience thresholds differed by role:
| Role level | Age on 1 December 2024 | Required post-qualification experience |
|---|---|---|
| Assistant Manager | 20–30 years | No officer-cadre experience requirement stated |
| Manager | 23–35 years | 3 years |
| Senior Manager | 26–35 years | 6 years |
| Cyber Security Expert (contractual) | Maximum 50 years | At least 6 years in the cyber security domain |
These are broad role-level thresholds, not a substitute for the eligibility criteria for a specific post. The IT positions required relevant engineering or postgraduate qualifications, with role-specific experience for Manager and Senior Manager openings. For Cyber Security Expert, the notice listed relevant bachelor’s or master’s degrees in fields such as engineering, computer science, IT, electronics, physics or related disciplines. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH and Cyber Law certifications were preferences, not a replacement for the stated degree and experience requirements. Banking-organization experience was also preferred for the cybersecurity role. Check the notification’s exact post-wise wording before relying on a general summary. Official eligibility details.
How would selection work?
IPPB reserved discretion to shortlist candidates after preliminary screening and to use an assessment, interview, group discussion or online test depending on the role and the bank’s decision. The notice does not establish a single mandatory exam sequence for every applicant. Results and final selection lists were to be published on IPPB’s website. Official selection terms.
