What did IGCAR advertise in the 91-post notice?
The Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), under India’s Department of Atomic Energy, advertised 91 Group A, B and C vacancies in Advertisement No. IGCAR/01/2024. The roles covered medical, nursing, allied-health, pharmacy and technician work. The vacancy counts in the official notice were:

The notice’s initial-pay figures varied by post: the listed range ran from ₹21,700 for Technician/B to ₹78,800 plus NPA for Scientific Officer/E (Medical). Allowances were as admissible under Central Government rules; the figures should not be read as a common salary for all posts. See the official 2024 advertisement for post-wise pay and conditions.
What was the last date to apply?
Online applications opened at 10:00 a.m. on 1 June 2024 and closed at 11:59 p.m. on 30 June 2024. The separate hard-copy deadline was 8 July 2024 for applicants to specified interview-only posts. Both deadlines have passed.

How did registration work?
The 2024 notice accepted applications only online through IGCAR’s recruitment site. The following steps describe that expired process, not a route to apply now:
- Choose the exact post and check its eligibility, post code and selection method in the official advertisement.
- Prepare the required certificates, a recent front-facing passport photograph, a legible signature, and an active email address and mobile number.
- Complete and submit the online application through the IGCAR recruitment site. Applicants could submit one application per post; applying for more than one post required separate applications.
- Pay the applicable notice fee, if required. The 2024 fee was ₹300 for listed Scientific Officer posts, ₹200 for listed Technical Officer, Scientific Assistant and Nurse posts, and ₹100 for Pharmacist and Technician posts. The notice exempted SC, ST, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and women candidates.
- If applying for one of the posts with interview-only selection, print the online application and send it with self-attested supporting documents by Speed Post or Registered Post so it reached IGCAR by 8 July 2024. Ordinary post was not accepted.
The hard-copy requirement applied to Scientific Officer/E, Scientific Officer/D, Scientific Officer/C, Technical Officer/B, Scientific Assistant/C and Scientific Assistant/B posts—not to every vacancy in the advertisement. The fees, exemptions and document instructions above are historical terms from the 2024 notice, not current application rules.

Who was eligible, and how were candidates selected?
Eligibility depended on the post. Requirements included different combinations of medical degrees and experience, nursing qualifications or registration, allied-health degrees or diplomas, pharmacy training and registration, and technician certificates. Age ceilings and applicable provisions also varied. The advertisement is the authoritative source for matching qualifications, age and category provisions to a specific post; the 91-post total alone cannot establish an individual’s eligibility.
Selection was not one uniform examination route. The notice specified personal interview only for Scientific Officer/E, Scientific Officer/D, Scientific Officer/C, Technical Officer/B, Scientific Assistant/C and Scientific Assistant/B posts. It also described online computer-based examinations generally, with possible paper-and-pen screening tests to shortlist candidates for interview. Check the relevant post’s selection section rather than assuming all vacancies used the same test.

Is IGCAR recruitment open now?
The 91-post advertisement is closed, and there is no basis to assume it will reopen. As checked on 8 October 2026, IGCAR’s recruitment page listed separate 2026 notices, including Research Associate, Trade Apprentice and Junior Research Fellowship opportunities. Those listings may change and have their own terms; consult the current official recruitment page for the latest status and application links.

IGCAR cautioned that no outside websites or agencies were authorized to accept applications for its vacancies. For a current notice, navigate from IGCAR’s official site to the recruitment listing instead of using a forwarded social-media link or an unsolicited application link. Pay only a fee expressly specified in the relevant notice; the 2024 advertisement did not authorize job-placement or security-deposit payments.
