The company’s 2025 annual report also says it extended its agreement with Stern for another three years. The announcement described a new season beginning September 14, 2026.

That makes the claim that Stern “may be fired” because a deal is expiring outdated. In December 2025, Stern said he had found a way to have more free time while continuing on radio: “Yes, we are coming back for three years,” the Associated Press reported.
How much is the current Howard Stern deal worth?
The current agreement’s compensation and full legal terms have not been disclosed in the cited SiriusXM announcement or AP’s renewal report. The $500 million figure in the earlier headline is not established by those sources as the value of the deal running through 2028.

It is also important not to treat older arrangements as a guide to the current contract’s exact terms. SiriusXM’s 2020 announcement described a five-year continuation of the live show and an additional seven years for the archive. Its 2015 announcement described five years of live hosting and a 12-year archive license. Those historical agreements show that live-show and archive rights can be handled on different schedules; they do not establish the detailed terms of Stern’s current agreement.
Where and when can listeners or viewers follow the show?
SiriusXM announced live episodes on Mondays and an adapted, streamable version for HBO Max on Thursdays, beginning September 17, 2026. It said 40 cameras would capture the conversation for the video version, but did not describe that version as an unedited simulcast of the full live broadcast. The announcement does not establish that every live segment will appear in the adapted program.

SiriusXM also announced a revised Howard 100 lineup and a “Howard Stern Decades” area in its app. The company described access for subscribers in cars, on phones, and on connected devices at home through the SiriusXM app. The announcement does not settle territory-specific availability or platform pricing, so check the services’ current listings for those details.

SiriusXM reported approximately 32.9 million subscribers in the United States as of December 31, 2025. That is a company-wide service figure, not a measurement of Stern’s audience. It cannot be used to infer how many people listen to his show.
