Sponsorships are another possible route, but they depend on your audience and brand fit. None guarantees a set income: what you receive depends on viewer support, ad delivery, local prices, deductions and payout rules.
How Twitch monetization works
Twitch’s built-in earning features are available to monetized creators. For most new streamers, the first step is qualifying for Affiliate, then completing onboarding. Once monetized, creators may earn through subscriptions, Bits and ads. Sponsorships are separate opportunities that a creator may pursue with brands.
These routes work differently: subscriptions are recurring or gifted viewer support, Bits are purchased by viewers to Cheer, ads earn revenue when delivered to viewers, and sponsorships trade exposure for negotiated terms. Each depends on audience behavior, and none guarantees a particular monthly income.

Ways Twitch creators earn
Subscriptions
Viewers can subscribe or gift subscriptions, providing recurring or one-time support. Creators manage subscription benefits in the Creator Dashboard. Twitch states that the standard Affiliate subscription revenue split is 50/50 after applicable deductions. The subscription price a viewer sees is not a guaranteed creator payout: subscriber location, taxes, payment processing, bank charges and currency conversion can change the net amount. Twitch Affiliate Program FAQ
Eligible creators may qualify for higher subscription net-revenue shares through Twitch’s Plus Program. The program lists a 60/40 share at 100 Plus Points and 70/30 at 300 Plus Points; each threshold must be met for three consecutive months. Twitch says these Plus Point thresholds apply globally. These rates are conditional, not automatic, and should not be assumed to apply to every creator or subscription type. Twitch Plus Program

Twitch says a Creator Profile can provide audience and demographic information when connecting with brands. Treat sponsorship income as an opportunity, not a predictable part of every streamer’s earnings. Twitch Creator Camp: Monetize your content Twitch Creator Profile guide

Partner monetization includes subscriptions, Bits and ads; meeting listed activity levels does not remove the need to apply and follow the program’s requirements. Twitch Partner Program overview

No particular purchase unlocks monetization. Twitch Creator Camp says creators can start with what they have, including a webcam, laptop or mobile phone.
