Report it promptly—some Uber Help pages recommend contacting Support within 48 hours—and describe exactly what went wrong. A refund or Uber credits may be available after review, but neither is guaranteed.
How to report an Uber Eats order problem
- Open the affected order. In the Uber Eats app, go to your order history, select the order, and open Help or the relevant order-help option. Labels can vary by app version and location.
- Choose the issue that matches what happened. Uber Help lists routes including “Wrong or missing items,” “My order is wrong,” and “My order never arrived.” For a cancellation charge, use “I was charged for cancellation.”
- Give specific details and attach evidence. Name each missing or incorrect item. For an incorrect item, Uber requests an image; photos of the received order or receipt can also help when the entire order appears to be someone else’s.
- Submit the report and watch for a response. Uber reviews the issue. The wrong-or-missing-items flow says the order cannot be replaced through that route, though you may be eligible for a refund.
Use the closest matching Help category rather than describing a whole-order mix-up as a single missing item. Uber has a separate “My order is wrong” route for an order that appears to belong to someone else. Uber’s wrong-or-missing-items guidance and its wrong-order guidance explain those paths.
Choose the route for your problem
Some items are missing or incorrect
Select “Wrong or missing items.” List each affected item and explain whether it was missing or what was wrong. Attach an image of an incorrect item when possible. Uber says it cannot replace the order through this report flow; a refund may be available depending on the review. See Uber’s instructions for wrong or missing items.
You received someone else’s order
Choose “My order is wrong” for a whole-order mix-up. Describe what you received and, if available, attach a photo of the items or receipt. This is distinct from reporting only one or two missing or incorrect items. Uber’s wrong-order page covers this case.

The order never arrived
Before reporting, check the delivery location, including the door or other drop-off spot if you selected “Leave at door.” Then choose “My order never arrived” and explain where you were and whether the delivery person tried to contact you. Uber says a reasonable attempt by the delivery person to contact you at the delivery address may affect eligibility for a resolution. Read Uber’s never-arrived guidance.
The order arrived late
Uber says Support may provide a refund or Uber credits for some orders that arrive 20 or more minutes after the estimated delivery range. The outcome depends on the delay and is not automatic. Report the delay through the affected order’s Help options. Uber’s late-order guidance describes this conditional remedy.

You canceled and still see a charge
Open “I was charged for cancellation” and check whether the transaction is a cancellation charge or a temporary card authorization hold. If the merchant canceled the order, Uber’s cancellation-help page says the customer will not be charged. See Uber’s cancellation-charge help.
When a cancellation charge may apply
Uber’s cancellation policy says a customer can cancel a restaurant order without a charge before the merchant accepts it. If the merchant has accepted the order and you cancel two or more minutes after placing it, a cancellation charge may apply, potentially up to the full price of the items. Canceling after delivery has begun can also add delivery-service charges. The page describes different timing terms for non-restaurant goods once delivery begins, so check the policy shown for your order.

The same policy says Uber may waive some or all of a cancellation charge in certain circumstances if you ask Support. These terms can depend on location, merchant type, and order details; they are not a universal rule for every Uber Eats order. Check Uber’s cancellation policy and contact Support through the order.
How quickly should you report the problem?
Report it as soon as you notice it. Some Uber Help flows recommend contacting Support within 48 hours for the best support experience and warn that later reports may not receive a refund or another resolution. That guidance is specific to those support pages; it does not mean a request submitted within 48 hours is automatically eligible. Wrong-or-missing-items guidance, never-arrived guidance, and late-order guidance provide issue-specific instructions.

Refund, authorization hold, or cancellation charge?
A refund for a completed order and the release of a temporary authorization hold are different payment events. A hold is a pending card authorization, not necessarily a posted charge. Uber says a refund may take about 7–10 days to appear. For an eligible canceled order, its cancellation page says an authorization hold is released immediately, but the financial institution may take 5–10 business days or longer to show the release.
If Uber says it issued a refund and it still is not visible after 10 business days, Uber recommends contacting your bank to trace it. Banks control the posting time, so the display date can vary. Uber’s refund guidance and cancellation policy distinguish the timelines.

What to include in your report
- The exact issue: missing item, incorrect item, wrong whole order, no delivery, late delivery, or cancellation charge.
- The names of the affected items and a brief, factual explanation of what happened.
- Photos of incorrect or received items, or a receipt if you have one and the whole order was wrong.
- For a never-arrived report, whether you checked the selected drop-off location and whether you were at the address or received a contact attempt.
Uber’s support pages describe issue-specific remedies and timing; they do not establish one refund rule for every country, merchant, payment method, or order type. Follow the terms and Help options shown for your order.
