Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo check your South African Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant status, use the SASSA SRD status page. The reported online procedure is to enter the applicant’s South African ID number and the cellphone number used for the application, then review the result for the relevant month. Before entering personal details, confirm that the page address is on the sassa.gov.za domain.
How to do an SRD status check online
- Open the SASSA SRD status page at srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status. The address is reported by secondary guidance; verify that you are on the official SASSA domain before continuing.
- Enter the applicant’s 13-digit South African ID number and the cellphone number associated with the application, as described by MySRD’s status-check guide.
- Submit the details and read the result for the month you want to check. Do not share your ID number or any one-time PIN with a third-party checker.
What the SRD result tells you
Results may include application or monthly processing outcomes such as approved, pending, declined, or payment-related states. The available guidance does not establish a complete official glossary for these labels, so follow the explanation shown on the live SASSA page rather than assuming what an unfamiliar status means.
An approval label by itself should not be treated as confirmation that money has already been paid or that a payment date is set. Check the result for the specific month and rely on the live SASSA page for any payment details or next steps.
If the status page does not work or the result is unclear
Try the official page again later if it will not load. If the result remains unclear, use the support channels listed on SASSA’s own website. Third-party guides list options such as WhatsApp, USSD, a call centre, and Moya App, but their claims are not consistent—particularly about USSD—and these alternatives are not confirmed here as current SASSA status-check methods. Do not rely on a number or code from an unofficial page without checking it against SASSA’s current channel directory.

Keep your application details safe
- Check the address bar for the sassa.gov.za domain before entering your ID or phone number.
- Use the cellphone number linked to the application; a different number may not retrieve the same result.
- Do not send your ID number or OTP to someone claiming they can check the result for you.
- For help, start from SASSA’s own website rather than an unverified search result or message.
The SRD status page and its labels can change. The online steps above are the procedure reported by MySRD; check SASSA’s live site for the current interface and official guidance.
