Wrexham AFC has no confirmed current valuation established by the sources reviewed as of 8 October 2026. BBC Sport reported that US coverage put the club at £350 million before Apollo Sports Capital invested, but that was a reported estimate—not an official or post-deal valuation.
What is Wrexham AFC’s reported value?
The most widely cited figure is £350 million. BBC Sport said on 27 January 2026 that US reports had valued Wrexham at that amount before Apollo Sports Capital’s investment. Neither the club nor the investor announced it as a formal valuation, and the figure should not be presented as what Wrexham is worth today. BBC Sport’s account of the reported estimate and investment provides the relevant context.
A valuation also needs a defined measure. Equity value refers to the value of the owners’ shares; enterprise value accounts for the business and its debt and cash. The cited coverage does not establish which measure the £350 million estimate used, so it cannot be directly compared with a share investment as though the figures were equivalent.
What does Apollo’s investment tell us?
Companies House documents showed that £47.83 million entered Wrexham AFC through a new share issue in January 2026. BBC Sport linked the issue to Apollo Sports Capital and described Apollo’s stake as believed to be just shy of 10%. The Associated Press said the Apollo announcement did not disclose the deal terms.

Those details do not establish a definitive valuation. The exact percentage and transaction terms are not confirmed in the cited reporting, and a share issue may involve arrangements that make a simple investment-to-stake calculation unreliable. The £47.83 million is the amount reported for the share issue, not a disclosed price for the whole club. The Associated Press report on Apollo’s investment notes that terms were not disclosed.

How Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney fit into the ownership
The accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025 state that Wrexham Holdings LLC held all the share capital of Wrexham AFC Limited. They identify the R.R. McReynolds Company LLC, owned equally by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, as the majority owner of Wrexham Holdings. The accounts also describe Red Dragon Ventures LLC as holding more than 10% of Wrexham Holdings and identify the Allyn family’s Wrexham Scope LLC as an owner of Red Dragon Ventures.
Companies House lists Reynolds and McElhenney as active persons with significant control, with register classifications covering at least 75% of shares and voting rights and the right to appoint or remove directors. Those classifications relate to control through the ownership structure; they should not be read as proof that either person personally owns a specific percentage of the club. The accounts are a snapshot dated 30 June 2025, before the reported Apollo share issue. BBC Sport describes Apollo as a minority investor and says Reynolds and McElhenney retained the majority shareholding and controlling stake; the reported Apollo percentage is not a precise official breakdown.

No. Sporting progress, sponsorship, international visibility and stadium redevelopment can influence what an investor is willing to pay, but they do not turn an estimate into a disclosed valuation. BBC Sport reported that Apollo’s funding would support stadium redevelopment and wider club development. It also reported that the documentary Welcome to Wrexham does not directly pay the club, while the exposure may help attract partnerships and sponsorship.

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire told BBC Sport: “Getting cash from investors is simply a function of acknowledgement from the investors that Wrexham Football Club is worth an awful lot of money in the current market.” That is his interpretation of what investor funding signals, not an appraisal or a disclosed price for Wrexham.
So, how much is Wrexham worth right now?
The clearest answer is that a confirmed current valuation has not been established in the available reporting. The £350 million figure is a pre-Apollo estimate attributed to US reports. The later £47.83 million share issue confirms investment activity, but undisclosed transaction terms prevent it from establishing a reliable current value for the whole club.
