Two current salary trackers put Barkley’s 2026/27 gross weekly wage at about £60,000. PSRwatch estimates £3 million in annual gross basic wages; Capology estimates £3.12 million in gross fixed salary. Both exclude bonuses, and neither figure is an official Aston Villa payroll disclosure.

The two estimates converge on the weekly figure, but they do not establish Barkley’s exact pay, total compensation or net income after tax and deductions. The available sources do not verify his bonus total.
Is Ross Barkley still at Aston Villa?
Yes. The Premier League’s 2026/27 25-player squad list includes Barkley at Aston Villa, and its player profile identifies him as a Villa midfielder. The league profile records 310 Premier League appearances, 40 goals and 34 assists across his career; those are career totals, not his 2026/27 season statistics. What happened with Sheffield United’s reported interest?
SportsBoom reported on 24 March 2026 that Sheffield United were exploring a possible summer approach for Barkley. The report described interest, not a confirmed offer, negotiation or transfer. It also said Barkley preferred to remain at the highest level and that Villa had a one-year extension option; those details were reported possibilities, not official announcements by either club. The Premier League’s 2026 summer transfer window closed on 1 September. Barkley was included in Villa’s post-window squad list, and he is not listed as an incoming or outgoing player on the league’s transfers page. What is known about his contract?
Current Capology and PSRwatch records list Barkley’s contract end date as 30 June 2027. That date comes from third-party records, not the Premier League squad list, which confirms his registration but does not disclose contract terms. Older Capology and SalaryLeaks pages list a June 2026 end date; those historical entries conflict with current listings and should not be treated as the current contract date.
