ExxonMobil’s official materials do not describe a separate activation step for a mailed physical Rewards+ membership card. After enrolling, identify your account at a participating station with the physical card, app, membership barcode, or linked phone number/Alt-ID.
Set up your Rewards+ membership
- Enroll online or in the app. Create a free account through ExxonMobil’s Rewards+ program page or Rewards+ app. ExxonMobil’s FAQ says that creating an app account automatically enrolls you in the loyalty program.
- Use an available membership identifier. At a participating station, you can use the physical Rewards+ card, the app, your membership barcode, or the phone number/Alt-ID linked to your account. The official FAQ describes using the app, card, or Alt-ID at the pump before paying, and using an identifier at in-store checkout.
- Complete enrollment to redeem points. ExxonMobil’s current program page says full enrollment is required to redeem. At checkout, select how many points to use, or scan your membership barcode or provide your linked phone number where supported.
Does a physical Rewards+ card need separate activation?
ExxonMobil’s reviewed official Rewards+ materials explain how to enroll and use the physical card as a membership identifier, but they do not specify a separate activation sequence for a mailed physical Rewards+ card. Start by completing account enrollment; do not assume that the card requires a call, an online activation page, or a QR-code scan. If your physical card is rejected after enrollment, use ExxonMobil’s official Rewards+ app/site or customer help for assistance.

Check which ExxonMobil card you have

If your card says Smart Card+, it is not the Rewards+ loyalty membership card. Use the issuer’s credit-card process rather than trying to enroll or activate it as a Rewards+ card. The Smart Card+ information is in ExxonMobil’s official Smart Card+ material; its listed customer-service number is for Smart Card+ support, not a confirmed Rewards+ activation line.
