To check on a Walmart job application, sign in to the Walmart Careers account you used to apply and open the application’s status or progress details. Walmart also sends important updates by email. Its stated goal is to respond within a week, but that is not a guaranteed deadline; timing can vary by position, location, and applicant volume.

Check your application in the Walmart Careers portal

  1. Go to Walmart Careers and sign in to the account used to submit your application.
  2. Open the application or progress area and select the role you want to check. Walmart identifies the careers portal as the place to view application-status updates.
  3. Review the status shown for that application. Walmart gives “under review,” “interview scheduled,” and “position filled” as examples; its public guidance does not define every status label.

A status is an update, not a complete explanation of the hiring decision. For example, “under review” does not guarantee an interview, and “position filled” does not explain why you were not selected.

Check the email address you used to apply

Walmart says it emails applicants important updates about their application status. Check the inbox for the email account associated with your application, including spam or junk folders, in case a message was filtered. Walmart’s guidance does not say that every status change will generate an email, so the Careers portal remains the route it identifies for checking progress.

How long does Walmart take to respond?

Walmart says it tries to respond within a week of submission, but this is an aim rather than a guaranteed turnaround. The company notes that review can take longer depending on the position, location, and popularity of the role. Its guidance does not specify a universal interval for checking again or a general hiring-manager escalation process.

What the application confirmation means

Walmart’s Hiring Process FAQ says a confirmation screen appears after an application and any required assessments are completed. That confirms completion of those steps; it does not mean you have been selected for the job. The same FAQ says hourly applications remain in Walmart’s system for 60 days, during which applicants can update preferences for other positions. That retention period is not a promised response or status-check timeline.

Where to get help with submitting an application

If you need assistance submitting an application, Walmart lists its candidate help line as 1-800-955-7267, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Central Time. Walmart presents this number for application-submission help; its FAQ does not say that it handles every account-access or status question.
