To close an Apple Card account, contact an Apple Card Specialist at Goldman Sachs. Apple’s instructions provide contact routes through Wallet on iPhone or iPad, or through card.apple.com on a computer; they do not describe a self-service close button. Before requesting closure, plan for any remaining balance, move recurring charges, and review scheduled payments. These instructions apply to Apple Card, which is available to qualifying applicants in the United States.
Contact an Apple Card Specialist to close the account
Choose whichever route is convenient. Apple’s instructions do not indicate a different closure process or timeline depending on how you contact support.
From iPhone
- Open the Wallet app and tap Apple Card.
- Tap More, then Account Details.
- Choose Message or Call to contact an Apple Card Specialist.
From iPad
- Open Settings and tap Wallet & Apple Pay.
- Tap Apple Card, then Info.
- Use the specialist contact option.
From a computer
- Sign in at card.apple.com.
- Choose Support and call an Apple Card Specialist.
Apple’s account-closure instructions describe these contact routes. Apple Card is issued by Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Salt Lake City Branch; confirm current support navigation on Apple’s support page because servicing instructions can change.
Prepare for closure: balance, recurring charges, and payments
Plan for any remaining balance
Closing the account does not erase what is owed. Apple states that after closure, the account owner and co-owner remain responsible for paying any remaining balance. See Apple’s closure guidance.

Move recurring charges
Before closure, update utilities, subscriptions, and other merchants that charge the card. Charges attempted after closure may be declined, so provide another payment method directly to each merchant.
Review Autopay and scheduled payments
To cancel Autopay, open Wallet, tap Apple Card, then More > Autopay > Cancel Autopay, as described in Apple’s payment instructions. Scheduled payments may be canceled only before they begin processing. If you plan to remove a linked bank account, cancel scheduled payments first; Apple explains the process in its bank-account management instructions.

What happens to Apple Card Family members?
Closing an Apple Card Family account closes it for the co-owner and every participant. Transactions attempted on the closed account are declined. A participant can be removed without closing the account, but a co-owner cannot be removed independently; Apple says the account must be closed. Check Apple’s closure guidance before deciding which change you need.
