Where to find your Zelle name

If you cannot find your profile or the name appears wrong, use your institution’s Zelle support information or contact its customer service. Zelle directs users to their financial institution for account changes.

Zelle is generally accessed through a participating bank or credit union’s app or online banking rather than through a single universal profile page. Both sender and recipient need eligible checking or savings accounts to send or receive money. Zelle’s overview explains how the service is accessed.
How to check the name a recipient sees
When you are preparing to pay someone new, check the displayed name on the recipient or confirmation screen before sending. Zelle specifically advises users to confirm the recipient by reviewing the displayed name. If the name is unfamiliar or does not match the person you intend to pay, stop and verify the recipient through a trusted channel before proceeding.

The name shown in a payment flow is useful for checking the recipient, but it is not a universal directory of every Zelle user. Interface details depend on the bank or credit union providing your access.
What Zelle information is linked to your profile
Zelle enrollment uses an email address or U.S. mobile number. Each email address or U.S. mobile number can be enrolled with only one bank account at a time. Zelle’s profile FAQ directs users to their institution’s app, online banking support FAQs, or customer service for changes to the account used to send and receive money.

If your name is missing or incorrect
Contact the bank or credit union that provides your Zelle access. Its support team can explain where your profile details appear and how they can be corrected in that institution’s system. Zelle’s general guidance does not establish a universal self-service editing screen.

If someone cannot send money to your enrolled contact
Check which email address or U.S. mobile number is enrolled with Zelle at your bank. If the sender used a different identifier, ask them to confirm the exact address or number they entered. If that identifier is not enrolled, contact your bank to register the exact one the sender used; Zelle’s instructions for receiving a payment are available in its receiving-money FAQ.
If the email address or number is already enrolled through another bank, Zelle says you may be able to re-enroll it using the new bank’s app. Because one identifier can be enrolled with only one bank account at a time, follow the institutions’ instructions to move it. Can a QR code show your Zelle name?
Where a financial institution supports Zelle QR codes, a user can share one so another person does not have to type an email address or U.S. mobile number. QR codes are not available at every institution, and they do not replace checking the displayed recipient name before sending. Zelle discusses QR codes and enrollment in its FAQ about sending to someone who has not enrolled.
