Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor the U.S. Netflix version of The Circle, the advertised winner’s prize in recent seasons is $100,000. That is the competition prize—not a salary paid to every contestant. Public reporting does not establish a standard payment for non-winners, and the current U.S. contributor-agreement terms are not public.
What the $100,000 figure means
Netflix announced a $100,000 cash prize for the U.S. competition in its 2021 Season 2 announcement, and Netflix Tudum’s 2024 Season 6 preview also lists a $100,000 prize. These are season-specific advertised prizes for the winner, not per-episode rates or payments to the full cast. Prize amounts should be checked against the official announcement for the season and country in question.
Do non-winning contestants get paid?
Public sources reviewed do not establish a standard non-winner fee for the U.S. show. A January 2023 Showbiz Cheat Sheet report says contestants in the season context it covered did not receive a weekly or per-episode stipend. It also reports that travel to England and accommodations were covered. Those are in-kind benefits, not cash earnings, and the report is not a published contributor contract: Showbiz Cheat Sheet’s report.
A May 2024 Distractify article says no participant had publicly revealed being paid to take part beyond the possibility of winning the prize, and infers that contestants likely are not paid. That is the article’s inference, not an official Netflix statement: Distractify’s report.

Selected participants sign a separate contributor agreement, but the agreement’s current U.S. terms are not established by these public sources. It is therefore more accurate to say that no standard non-winner payment has been verified publicly than to claim every contestant is guaranteed $0. The available reporting also cannot rule out changed terms between seasons or individually negotiated arrangements.
Why figures from other versions do not answer the U.S. question
The Circle is an international franchise. Netflix’s 2018 announcement of local versions describes its format, but does not set a universal compensation policy. Pay and prizes should be treated as specific to the country and season.

A UK parliamentary committee document includes a Studio Lambert contributor-agreement template for the original UK series. It refers to a daily fee but leaves the amount blank as “£[ ]”; the document also gives a maximum £50,000 prize for that UK contest. This historical UK evidence does not establish an actual fee paid to a participant, nor does it reveal the U.S. cast’s terms: UK Parliament document.

What contestants can reasonably count as earnings
- Winner: the season’s advertised cash prize, if won. Recent U.S. examples are $100,000, but that amount is not a general cast salary.
- Non-winner: no standard U.S. cash payment is confirmed in the public sources cited here. Reports of covered travel or lodging describe benefits in kind, not money paid to contestants.
- Other countries or seasons: do not assume the U.S. prize or reported compensation applies. Confirm the relevant version’s official prize announcement and distinguish it from the private contract terms.
