The PlayStation Store runs sales repeatedly throughout the year, but Sony has not announced a fixed monthly schedule or guaranteed dates. Seasonal examples include New Year and holiday promotions, Days of Play around late May or early June, and Black Friday in November. Dates, discounts and eligible games can vary by region, so check your local Store listing for the current offer and its end date.
When does the PlayStation Store have sales?
Sony’s announcements show recurring promotions at several points in the year, not a dependable calendar. Recent official examples include New Year Deals, Days of Play, Black Friday and the Holiday Sale. These are examples of named events, not a complete list of every Store promotion, and they do not establish how many sales occur in a typical year.

- New Year and holiday period: Sony has announced offers spanning late December into January, as well as a New Year Deals promotion in January.
- Late May or early June: Days of Play has appeared in this window in multiple years.
- November: PlayStation Store game offers have been included in Black Friday promotions.
These patterns can help you decide when to check, but they are not a forecast of the next sale or a promise that a particular game will be discounted.

How long do PSN sales last?
Several of these announced events ran for roughly two weeks, while the 2022 Holiday Sale crossed from late December into early January. That does not mean every future promotion—or every game in a promotion—will stay discounted for the full event. In the 2022 Holiday Sale, Sony said some titles left before the overall promotion ended; the 2023 refresh also noted that individual titles had their own end dates.

- Use gift card funds to contribute towards PlayStationPlus memberships.
Why the sale can look different in your region
Sony’s announcements caution that dates, game selection and discounts may differ by region. A promotion described on a PlayStation Blog page may therefore not match the offers or timing shown in your local Store. The Black Friday announcement also covered retailer offers, which are distinct from the digital game prices shown in PlayStation Store.

- Open the game’s product page in your regional PlayStation Store and check its current price and any displayed offer end date.
- If the price is not right, set a reminder to check around seasonal windows such as January, late May or early June, and November. This is a practical approach based on past event examples, not an official Sony prediction.
- Before purchasing later, check the product page again. Past sale timing does not establish when that specific game will next be discounted or what its future price will be.
The latest dated example in the announcements cited here is Days of Play 2026. It does not establish a date for a future event.
