Dividing that total by 101 gives roughly US$156.5 million per aircraft, but that is only a rough average for the order—not a quoted price for one A320neo. The filing says the negotiated amount is significantly lower and does not disclose it.
What does the US$156.5 million figure represent?
China Eastern’s filing reports a catalogue-price total of approximately US$15.802 billion for 101 A320NEO-series aircraft. The reference prices were Airbus catalogue prices provided in January 2024, even though the purchase agreement was signed in March 2026. The filing does not break down the aircraft mix, so the arithmetic average of about US$156.5 million cannot be treated as the price of a specific A320neo variant. The same filing says Airbus granted “substantive price concessions” and that the consideration after arm’s-length negotiations is “significantly lower” than catalogue price. It does not reveal the final amount. That means the public figure is a reference benchmark, not what China Eastern has disclosed paying.
Why an airline’s actual price can differ
Catalogue price is not the negotiated price
A catalogue price is a reference amount. The negotiated consideration can reflect concessions, credits, contractual terms, and the aircraft configuration. China Eastern’s disclosure confirms significant concessions but gives no percentage or net price, so an exact discount cannot be calculated from the filing.

Air China says its A320NEO-series list-price total includes the airframe, optional features, and engines. Delivery timing and price adjustment matter
China Eastern’s aircraft are scheduled for delivery in batches from 2028 through 2032. The filing also describes a price-fluctuation mechanism intended to reflect inflation in production and manufacturing over the delivery period. The January 2024 catalogue benchmark is therefore not necessarily the final amount payable under the contract.

All three figures refer to A320NEO-series batches and January 2024 catalogue pricing. They are not three disclosed per-plane transaction prices, and an aggregate total alone is not enough to rank the value of the deals.

The price disclosures concern airline-scale procurement, not a retail purchase or a public, one-aircraft quotation. Airbus delivered 793 commercial aircraft in 2025, including 607 A320 Family aircraft, illustrating the family’s scale in its delivery mix.
