The clearest official figure is $168,366 per Javelin all-up round in FY2022. That is a historical U.S. Army procurement unit cost—not a current retail price, a current FY2026/2027 quote, or the price of a complete launcher-and-missile system.
What does the $168,366 figure cover?
The U.S. Army’s June 2025 FY2026 procurement-history exhibit lists an FY2022 quantity of 6,286 and a unit cost of $168.366 thousand for the cost element labeled “All Up Round.” That equals $168,366 per round. The fiscal year matters: the figure appears in an FY2026 budget exhibit, but it describes FY2022 procurement history, not a price for an order placed in FY2026. Army FY2026 procurement-history exhibit.
An all-up round is not the same cost element as the reusable command launch unit or a complete Javelin weapon system. The cited budget line does not establish the price of either of those items.
Why contract headlines do not give a per-missile price
FY2023–FY2026 IDIQ: $1.02 billion base period, $7.2 billion ceiling
The Army described a Javelin indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with a $1.02 billion base period and a $7.2 billion ceiling. It covered procurement and production support for the Army, Marines, Navy, and international customers. The ceiling is a maximum contract limit, not evidence that the full amount was spent; neither figure is a unit price. U.S. Army contract announcement, May 3, 2023.

FY2024 follow-on production contract: $1.3 billion
RTX reported that the Army awarded the Javelin Joint Venture a $1.3 billion FY2024 follow-on production contract covering missiles, associated equipment, and services. The announcement said the contract included more than 4,000 Javelins to replenish rounds sent to Ukraine. Because the overall award covered more than those rounds, dividing $1.3 billion by 4,000 would not produce a valid per-round price. RTX contract announcement, May 1, 2024.
Is there a current Javelin price?
The cited public sources do not establish a current FY2026 or FY2027 order-level price for one all-up round, or a current price for a complete Javelin system. The FY2022 unit cost is the clearest official per-round figure here; later contract announcements provide totals and broader scopes, not comparable per-round prices. No comparable foreign per-round price is established by these sources.

When comparing a Javelin cost claim, check the fiscal year, whether it refers to an all-up round or launcher/system, what equipment or services are included, and whether the number is a unit cost, contract award, base value, or ceiling. Those distinctions explain why large contract headlines cannot be treated as the cost of each missile.
