Bradford City’s exact wage-bill position among League Two clubs cannot be verified from the available figures. Its reviewed 2024/25 accounts do not separately disclose staff costs, while Salary Sport estimates the club’s player wages at about £5.03 million for the season. That estimate offers a sense of scale, but it is not an audited figure and does not establish Bradford’s place in a reliable same-season league ranking.
What Bradford City’s 2024/25 accounts disclose
A review of Bradford City’s FY2024–25 accounts reports turnover close to £9 million, a pre-tax loss of around £3 million and net assets in deficit by around £5 million. The review does not identify a separate staff-costs line, so it does not provide a verified wage bill that can be compared with other clubs. That distinction matters because “wage bill” can refer to player pay alone or to staff costs across a club. Even where accounts show staff costs, that broader category is not necessarily equivalent to player wages.
What the player-wage estimate says
Salary Sport estimates Bradford’s 2024/25 player wages at £96,707 per week, or £5,028,764 across the season, for a squad of 40 players. These are third-party estimates, not figures disclosed as an audited wage line in the club’s accounts. The estimate is useful for scale, but it cannot settle how Bradford compared with League Two rivals. It measures estimated player wages, while the comparison page reports staff costs for some clubs; those figures do not necessarily cover the same costs.
Why a reliable League Two wage ranking is unavailable
Salary Sport’s League Two financial table covers 17 of the division’s 24 clubs, and shows staff-cost figures for only 10. It combines each club’s latest filed year, with years ranging from 2016/17 to 2024/25. A table assembled from different accounting periods and incomplete coverage cannot support a like-for-like ranking for Bradford’s 2024/25 season.

- Different measures: Bradford’s available estimate is for player wages; rival figures may be total staff costs.
- Incomplete coverage: fewer than half of the 24 clubs have staff-cost figures shown in the comparison.
- No Bradford account line: the reviewed Bradford accounts do not separately state staff costs.
For these reasons, the sources do not establish Bradford’s wage rank in League Two, nor whether its spending was high or low relative to the division.

Bradford finished third in League Two and earned automatic promotion to League One at the end of 2024/25, ending a six-year wait. The EFL reports that the club won 17 of its 23 home matches that season. The EFL’s 6 May 2025 coverage carried manager Graham Alexander’s headline remark: “Hopefully we’ve done the 56 justice today”.

That promotion is an achievement on the pitch; it does not show that Bradford reached League One with a low, high or division-leading wage bill. The evidence here cannot substantiate any of those spending comparisons.
