Tarkir: Dragonstorm is not an upcoming release: its worldwide tabletop release was April 11, 2025, and Wizards of the Coast now labels the set “Available Now.” This guide is therefore a retrospective buying guide; any current restock or preorder depends on the retailer’s live listing. The right product depends on whether you want packs for play, premium treatments, a ready-to-play Commander deck, or accessories.
Which Tarkir: Dragonstorm product fits your goal?
Wizards of the Coast’s official product page lists Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, five clan-themed Commander decks, a Bundle, and five clan-themed Prerelease Packs. Their contents serve different purposes; there is no universally best box.
| Product | What it includes | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Play Booster box | 30 Play Boosters per box; each pack contains 14 Magic cards. | Opening packs and Limited play. |
| Collector Booster box | 12 Collector Boosters per box, with packs emphasizing foils, special treatments, and premium collectibles. | Collectors who specifically want premium treatments and accept the higher cost and uncertainty of pack openings. |
| Commander deck | One of five clan versions: a ready-to-play 100-card Commander deck plus a Collector Booster Sample Pack. | Players who want a multiplayer deck they can play without assembling one card by card. |
| Bundle | Nine Play Boosters, a traditional foil alternate-art promo, 30 basic lands, two reference cards, a spindown die, and a storage box. | Buyers who want a mix of boosters and accessories rather than a full booster box. |
| Prerelease Pack | One of five clan versions, with five Play Boosters, a clan-themed Prerelease Booster, a stamped foil rare or mythic rare, a deck box, and a spindown die. | Prerelease sealed events and players choosing a clan-themed kit. |
How should you choose between the products?
Choose Play Boosters for opening and Limited play
A Play Booster box contains 30 packs, each with 14 Magic cards. It is the straightforward option if your priority is opening multiple packs or using them for Limited play. A box gives you more packs than a Bundle, while the Bundle adds accessories and a promo instead.
Choose Collector Boosters for premium treatments
Collector Boosters focus on foils, special treatments, and premium collectibles. That describes the product’s contents, not the odds of opening any particular card or its likely resale value. Wizards reported that 500 serialized Mox Jasper cards were available exclusively in Collector Boosters; that figure is not a pull probability. The non-serialized version is mechanically identical to the serialized version.

Choose a Commander deck for a ready-to-play deck
Each of the five decks is a complete 100-card Commander deck and comes with a Collector Booster Sample Pack. Compare the clan versions by their color identity and play style, then check the contents of the specific deck listing before buying.
Choose a Bundle for packs and useful extras
A Bundle trades the larger pack count of a booster box for a smaller set of boosters plus a promo, lands, reference cards, a die, and a storage box. It can suit someone who wants both packs and basic accessories in one package.

Where can you look for a listing?
Wizards’ product page links to purchase destinations including Amazon and TCGplayer, and Wizards also identified local game stores and online retailers as preorder routes when the set launched. These are examples of retail channels, not confirmation that a particular listing is available now. Check the retailer’s current listing for product identity, stock status, price, shipping region, and seller details.
Because the set has already released, treat any listing described as a preorder as a retailer-specific restock or future shipment offer, and verify its stated timing and terms. Avoid assuming that a high-priced listing reflects a product’s value: the official product information does not establish investment returns, expected value, or guaranteed card pulls.
