To track an eBay order, open Purchases or Purchase history, select the item, and check its delivery details. If you checked out as a guest, use the View order details link in eBay’s order-confirmation email. Tracking appears when the seller uses a tracked shipping service and adds the tracking information to eBay; without it, check the order’s expected delivery date.
Track an eBay order while signed in
- Open Purchase history (also labeled Purchases in some places) and find the order.
- Open the order details or delivery information.
- If a tracking number is shown, select it to see the carrier’s latest updates and location.
- If no tracking number appears, contact the seller from the order details page and ask them to upload it. Use the expected delivery date shown on the order to judge when the item should arrive.
Track a guest purchase
Find the eBay order-confirmation email sent to the address you entered at checkout. The subject begins with “Order Confirmed.”
- Select View order details in the email.
- On the Order Details page, select Show shipping details to look for tracking information.
- If tracking is missing, select Contact seller on the Order Details page and ask the seller to add it.
If you cannot find the confirmation email, eBay provides an option to resend a link to your order details.
Find your eBay order number
The eBay order number is 12 digits. You can find it in the order details, Purchase history, or confirmation email. eBay may ask for it when you contact the seller or eBay.

If your eBay order is late or missing
- Open the order and check its expected delivery date, shipping address, and latest tracking updates.
- If the estimated delivery date has passed and the item has not arrived, report it as not received from the order page. Tell the seller what resolution you want, such as an update, replacement, or refund.
- Allow the seller time to respond. eBay says sellers generally respond within 3 business days.
- If the seller does not respond or resolve the issue after 3 business days, you can ask eBay to step in. eBay’s US help guidance describes a limit of up to 21 business days from when you opened the request.
Deadlines for buyer protection depend on the applicable regional policy. For example, eBay’s US help guidance says eligible buyers should report non-delivery within 30 calendar days after the delivery date to remain eligible for buyer protections. Check the policy for your region and act within its deadline.
If eBay says the package was delivered but you cannot find it
- Check around your home, porch, mailroom, and other likely drop-off spots.
- Ask neighbors or building reception whether they accepted the parcel.
- Review any delivery photo and consider contacting the carrier.
- If the package is still missing, report the problem to the seller through eBay.
Why an eBay order may not show tracking
Tracking is visible on eBay when the seller used a tracked shipping service and uploaded the tracking details. If the number is absent, the order may still show an expected delivery date. Ask the seller to add the tracking number, then use the order page to check for updates.
