Rebel Wilson’s Balmain penthouse was first listed in June 2024 with a reported $2.3 million price guide. That was not its eventual sale price: after a relisting with a lower guide in 2025, the apartment sold for a reported $2.15 million in September 2025.
What happened to the $2.3 million listing?
The $2.3 million figure was the guide for Wilson’s initial 2024 campaign, not a confirmed sale price. Reports said the planned auction campaign did not result in a sale at that time. The apartment returned to the market in 2025 with a reported $2 million guide, then sold for $2.15 million. The sale price was reported after settlement.
| Date | Reported amount | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| 2015 | $1.88 million | Reported off-the-plan purchase price. Elite Agent and realestate.com.au |
| June 2024 | $2.3 million | Reported initial price guide; the campaign did not produce a sale then. PerthNow and Elite Agent |
| September 2025 | $2 million | Reported guide when the apartment was relisted. View.com.au |
| September 2025 | $2.15 million | Reported sale price, published after settlement. realestate.com.au |
What was the Balmain apartment like?
The property was apartment 19/100 Reynolds Street, in Sydney’s 100 Balmain development. The complex occupies a former Lever Brothers soap factory converted into residences; the reproduced listing identifies the project as a heritage conversion developed by Punch Park.
Property reports described Wilson’s residence as a two-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouse spread over two levels, with a rooftop entertaining terrace, balconies, city and Anzac Bridge views, and double parking with EV charging. The original listing’s promotional copy called it a “house-like apartment” and described the upper-level living area as making the most of the views. Those are listing descriptions, rather than independent assessments.

Published floor-area figures conflict: PerthNow reported 130 square metres, while Elite Agent reported 156 square metres of indoor and outdoor living space. Without a confirmed primary measurement and a clear definition of what is included, neither figure should be treated as the definitive area.
Does the reported sale mean Wilson made a $270,000 profit?
No. The reported $2.15 million sale price is $270,000 above the reported $1.88 million purchase price, but that is only the gross difference between those two transaction amounts. realestate.com.au said it was not known whether Wilson made a profit after taxes and other costs. The figures do not establish her net profit.
