There is no verified public total for Perez Hilton’s lifetime earnings. Celebrity Net Worth estimated his net worth at $3 million in an article updated August 5, 2026, but that is a third-party estimate—not a disclosed sum of his career income. Historical reports offer clues about his blog’s reach and business, but they do not establish what he personally earned overall.
What is Perez Hilton’s net worth?
Celebrity Net Worth estimates Hilton’s net worth at $3 million, according to a page last updated August 5, 2026. It is an estimate, not an audited statement or a figure Hilton has publicly verified. Net worth means the estimated value of assets minus liabilities at a particular point in time; it is not the same as total earnings accumulated over a career. Celebrity Net Worth’s estimate and account of his income sources do not provide financial statements or a breakdown of his assets, debts, or earnings.
In a 2013 Los Angeles Times column, Robin Abcarian reported that Hilton told her his income was about $50,000 in 2006. The same column described later reports of a $30 million net worth as unconfirmed. The 2006 income figure concerns one year, while the $30 million figure was an unverified net-worth claim; neither establishes his lifetime earnings. Abcarian’s 2013 report is the source for both details.
What do the blog’s peak-era figures tell us?
A 2008 WIRED profile described a site with substantial reach and advertising potential. It reported that homepage ads fetched as much as $54,000 a day and cited 198 million monthly pageviews, attributing the traffic figure to Quantcast. Those are historical figures for the blog’s peak-era scale, not evidence of current traffic or revenue. WIRED’s 2008 profile does not show how many ads were sold at that rate, how much advertising revenue was actually collected, or what remained as profit or personal income.

An advertising rate is a price for inventory, not proof that every available placement sold at that price. Pageviews count activity, not money. Operating costs, staffing, taxes, and other business expenses also separate a media company’s gross revenue from an owner’s take-home income. The historical figures therefore show that the site once had significant commercial scale, but cannot be converted into Hilton’s personal earnings.
Did Perez Hilton sell his website for $20 million?
No completed sale is established by the available reporting. In a 2011 Guardian interview, Hilton characterized a reported $20 million offer for his site as a “shameless publicity stunt” and said, “I was disappointed it was not a serious offer.” The reported figure was not sale proceeds. The Guardian’s interview records his account of the report.

How has Perez Hilton made money?
Site advertising is one reported source, but Hilton’s media work has extended beyond the blog. Celebrity Net Worth lists television, books, sponsored content, speaking, live performances, podcasts, radio, YouTube advertising, and social-media partnerships among his income avenues. It does not quantify the contribution of any of these channels, and it says traffic and ad revenue later declined as audiences moved toward social platforms.
Hilton’s memoir, TMI: My Life in Scandal, is one example of his books. The available reporting does not establish its sales, royalties, or contribution to his wealth. The Guardian also quoted him in 2011 saying, “I am not motivated by money,” but that comment does not provide financial figures.

The public numbers describe different things, from different years, and should not be combined:
- Income: a flow over a period. The roughly $50,000 figure is Hilton’s reported income in 2006, not his lifetime total.
- Net worth: an estimate of assets minus liabilities at a point in time. The $3 million figure is Celebrity Net Worth’s estimate updated August 5, 2026; the older $30 million claim was described as unconfirmed by the Los Angeles Times in 2013.
- Advertising rate: a price for ad inventory. WIRED’s 2008 report of up to $54,000 per day does not establish realized revenue or profit.
- Pageviews: a measure of site activity. The 198 million monthly figure attributed to Quantcast by WIRED is historical, not a current traffic count or earnings measure.
- Proposed sale price: a reported offer has no value as completed-sale income unless a transaction closes. Hilton disputed the seriousness of the reported $20 million offer in 2011.
None of the cited sources provides an audited lifetime earnings total or a verified statement by Hilton giving one. The most supportable answer is that the total is not publicly known; the often-quoted figures are an estimate of current net worth and historical clues about a once-large media business, not a calculation of how much he has earned over his career.
