That number was a shortlist for the next selection stage—not a final selection or confirmation that candidates had passed the typing test.
What the HPSSC JOA (IT) result announced
The objective-type screening test for JOA (IT), Post Code 817, was held on March 21, 2021. A result report published on July 2, 2021 said the commission had provisionally shortlisted 19,024 candidates for the typing skill test. The Times of India quoted the HPSSC notification: “Out of total 107878 candidates appeared, the following 19024 candidates have been provisionally shortlisted for further selection process i.e. typing skill test.”
The same report attributed these attendance figures to the notification: 107,878 candidates appeared and 102,114 were absent. The figures describe the reported screening-test attendance; they do not change what the shortlist count represents.
What “shortlisted” means—and what it does not
Being among the 19,024 meant a candidate was provisionally called forward to the typing skill test. It did not mean the candidate had completed that stage, been finally selected, or received an appointment. The result was an intermediate step in the recruitment process.

How candidates were directed to check the 2021 result
Contemporary directions said to visit the former HPSSC website, open “Result,” and choose the notification for the written objective-type screening-test result for JOA (IT), Post Code 817, dated July 1, 2021. These are historical instructions, and the live availability of that page has not been verified.
If you need to confirm an individual result or find candidate-specific next steps, check the relevant official commission archives. Do not rely on a link or schedule copied from an unofficial page without verifying it against an official notice.

Keep Post Code 817 records in their proper stage
Later official HPRCA documents also cover Post Code 817 and subsequent selection stages. They concern later events and should not be confused with the 2021 announcement that shortlisted 19,024 candidates for the typing test. HPPSC’s present website has its own result categories, but that does not establish whether the former HPSSC result archive remains accessible.
