Gunzilla announced an OpenSea integration for its GUNZ blockchain in April 2024, with Off The Grid named as the first game. OpenSea’s current help documentation lists GUNZ as a compatible chain, but that does not establish that every player or item can be withdrawn and traded today. The announcement’s planned marketplace role for the GUN token and OpenSea’s current description of it as a transaction-fee token are related but distinct claims.
What Gunzilla announced about OpenSea
On 9 April 2024, Gunzilla Games said GUNZ would be natively integrated with OpenSea so users could trade in-game NFT items from games built on GUNZ. The company called GUNZ the ninth blockchain natively supported by OpenSea at that time; that is a historical count, not OpenSea’s current supported-chain total. Gunzilla’s announcement also described the planned marketplace as compliant and transparent—Gunzilla’s characterization, not an independently established assessment.
The announcement named Off The Grid as the first GUNZ project. It described PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the game’s planned platforms at the time. That statement records the announcement’s plans; it is not a current platform-availability check.
Can you trade Off The Grid items on OpenSea?
OpenSea’s current compatible-chain documentation lists GUNZ and says users can use an EVM wallet such as MetaMask. Separately, a later Gunzilla migration update said users would be able to withdraw in-game NFT items to third-party wallets and marketplaces such as OpenSea, with access for early users planned to begin in July 2025.

Those sources support listed network compatibility and a stated withdrawal plan; they do not confirm that every account, game item or player currently has withdrawal access. Nor does chain compatibility by itself show that a particular item is eligible to leave the game or is available to list. Check the current in-game or GUNZ instructions for your account and item before relying on an external-marketplace route.
How the GUNZ-to-OpenSea path works
These are separate stages, and an item’s presence at one stage does not prove it has reached the next:

- In-game item: The player has an item in a GUNZ game such as Off The Grid.
- NFT representation: The item must be represented as an NFT on GUNZ to be handled as an on-chain asset.
- Withdrawal: The item must be eligible to move from the game environment to an external wallet. Gunzilla described this as a planned feature for early users beginning in July 2025.
- Marketplace listing: An eligible NFT held in a compatible wallet may be accessible for trading through a supported marketplace. OpenSea lists GUNZ as compatible, but availability still depends on the specific asset and account.
What GUNZ and the GUN token do
GUNZ is Gunzilla’s gaming blockchain. Gunzilla announced it on 5 April 2023 as a gaming blockchain built on an Avalanche Subnet, with GUNZ SDK and white-label components intended for other studios. That platform background is distinct from the later OpenSea integration announcement. The 2023 announcement describes the original framing.
The token’s role depends on which source and product context you mean. In April 2024, Gunzilla said GUN would be the exclusive payment method for the planned marketplace trading. OpenSea’s current help page describes $GUN as the GUNZ network’s transaction-fee token. These statements do not establish that all marketplace purchases use GUN, or that the announcement’s payment design is unchanged.

What the announcement does—and does not—show
The 2024 announcement also reported $30 million in combined funding, including a $10 million strategic token round co-led by CoinFund and Blizzard Fund of the Avalanche Foundation, with Republic Capital and Morningstar Ventures participating. Those figures are Gunzilla’s reported figures, not independent verification of funding or evidence of marketplace performance.
The official materials cited here do not give integration-specific user adoption, trading volume, revenue or item-count results. They establish an announced integration, OpenSea’s current listing of GUNZ as a compatible chain, and Gunzilla’s later statement of a withdrawal plan—not how widely the marketplace route is used or which items are currently tradable.
