What the HPPSC answer-key notice covered
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission’s notice covered Paper-I and Paper-II (Subject Aptitude Test) for Junior Auditor, Class-III contract posts in the H.P. State Audit Department. Both papers were held on 29 September 2024. The notice was dated 1 October 2024. HPPSC’s official website was the publication channel identified in the notice. [c001]
The recruitment began with Advertisement No. 3/2-2024, dated 10 February 2024, for 37 posts. [c002] The answer key was provisional: candidates who had appeared could challenge it under the notice’s prescribed procedure.
How objections worked—and why the dates matter
The five-day objection period excluded the day the key was published. It ran from 2 October through 6 October 2024 and is no longer open. HPPSC’s Secretary stated: “The candidate(s) can file objection(s) along with supporting documents / references against the provisional answer key through online mode only within a period of 05 (five) days, excluding the day of publishing of provisional answer key, i.e. w.e.f. 02.10.2024 to 06.10.2024.” [c001]

- Who could object: candidates who had appeared in the examination.
- How: online only, with supporting documents or references.
- Fee: ₹100 for each question challenged, up to ₹500 for each paper. The fee was non-refundable.
- Payment condition: payment was due online at submission. HPPSC said other filing or payment modes would not be entertained and objections without payment would not be considered.
These were the historical terms for the October 2024 window; they do not provide a current route for submitting an objection.
Exam structure in the recruitment advertisement
HPPSC’s advertisement described both papers as objective tests. The marks and duration below come from that advertisement’s general scheme. [c002]

What happened after the provisional key
The answer-key notice was one stage in a recruitment process that continued into 2025. The Commission’s notice of 19 March 2025 records the following chronology. [c003]
- 21 January 2025: HPPSC notified a list of 83 candidates shortlisted for document verification.
- 14–15 February 2025: document verification was held.
- 19 March 2025: HPPSC recommended 36 candidates against 37 advertised vacancies. One SC of HP (WFF) post remained unfilled.
The recommendation notice made appointments subject to verification of documents and certificates by the appointing authority. It also stated that the result was subject to the final outcome of Civil Writ Petition No. 2406 of 2025, Ruby Attri Vs. HPPSC. The notice does not establish the petition’s later outcome.

The 2024 objection deadline is past. Anyone checking the recruitment’s status should use HPPSC’s official notices rather than rely on an old answer-key announcement. The March 2025 notice is the later recruitment update established here; it records recommendations, not a finding that the stated writ petition has concluded. [c003]
