IMM Investment contributed KRW 15 billion as a follow-on investor; Shinhan Venture Investment and Daesung Private Equity joined as new investors. A Korean exchange filing records a share subscription agreement dated March 31, 2025, covering 21,456 preferred shares for approximately KRW 30 billion. What does HYBE IM plan to do with the investment?
HYBE IM said it would use the funding to reinforce global publishing, marketing, operational optimization, and localization. Those are stated plans intended to help publishing titles succeed and support stable live-service operations; they are not evidence that the spending has already produced particular results. The company framed the investment as support for its publishing and service capabilities as well as the potential to expand games using HYBE artist IP. HYBE IM announcement.

The company linked investor interest to two projects it characterized as large-scale MMORPGs:

- Project Torch (working title)

How does the round fit HYBE IM’s publishing strategy?
HYBE’s August 1, 2024 shareholder letter said HYBE IM was established in 2022, had developed and launched artist-IP games, and began operating publishing for games made by external studios in the second quarter of 2024. HYBE described a plan to stabilize and expand publishing before introducing a variety of games, including in-house IP projects, from 2025 onward. That letter records the plan at that date; it does not establish which later launches occurred. HYBE letter to shareholders.

Earlier reporting identified Rhythm Hive and BTS Island: In the SEOM as artist-IP games, and Oz Re:write and Knight of Veda as publishing deals. These examples illustrate that the company’s activities included both games connected to HYBE artists and publishing for titles developed elsewhere. Korea JoongAng Daily.
HYBE IM president Wooyong Chung said the aim was for the company to move beyond IP-based games and become a “next-generation game publisher” providing content to gamers worldwide. That wording is a translation of the Japanese statement in the company announcement. HYBE IM announcement.

How does the new funding compare with the 2024 investment?
HYBE IM said that, including the new KRW 30 billion, total funding reached KRW 137.5 billion based on actual investment amounts and accounting for exchange-rate fluctuations. It also referred to an August 2024 strategic investment agreement valued at USD 80 million. Because the company’s cumulative calculation reflects actual proceeds and currency changes, adding the nominal USD 80 million to the 2025 round’s headline dollar conversion would not produce a reliable exact total. What the announcement does—and does not—show
- Established: the announced round amount, participating investors, and the company’s stated strategic priorities.
- Not established: how much was ultimately spent on each area, whether the named projects launched, their performance, or any financial return from the investment.
- Separate parent-company context: HYBE’s 2025 first-quarter business report lists 2024 consolidated revenue of KRW 2,255,649 million and MD and licensing revenue of KRW 420,229 million, or 18.63% of the total.
