Zara opened its first Western Australian store at Garden City in Booragoon on 21 August 2014. The two-level shop was the retailer’s tenth in Australia at the time, with women’s, men’s and children’s ranges. It is now a closed location: Zara shut the Booragoon store in September 2021 and opened at Karrinyup the following month.

The store opened on 21 August 2014 at Garden City, the shopping centre now referred to in later coverage as Westfield Booragoon. PerthNow reported queues from early morning and described the new shop as Zara’s tenth Australian store. That count refers to opening day in 2014, not the retailer’s current Australian network. OUTinPerth reported the address as 125 Risely Street, and described the store as two storeys, covering 1,338 square metres with 19 fitting rooms. Clothing ranges and opening styles
The shop launched with women’s, men’s and children’s clothing. Its focus was the then-current spring/summer 2014 collection, alongside a preview of autumn/winter 2015. PerthNow highlighted perforated and quilted bomber jackets, military-inspired women’s looks and fluid fabrics. How Zara’s Perth locations changed
In 2014, a second Perth outlet on Murray Street was expected later that year. The West Australian also reported the centre operator’s then-plan to target retailers including H&M and Uniqlo for expanded Garden City retail space. Those were plans reported at the time, not confirmation of later outcomes.
Zara closed its Booragoon store on 24 September 2021 after seven years, then opened its Karrinyup store on 7 October. In its closure coverage, PerthNow quoted an unnamed Zara spokeswoman: “A key focus of Zara’s differentiation and strategic transformation is on high-quality stores with the aim that they be fully integrated, digital and eco-efficient.” PerthNow’s 2021 report
