The advertised offer was a StackSocial digital code for three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: sponsored coverage reported a $36.49 price and said five codes could be stacked for 15 months at 28% off. That is a historical promotion, not a verified current deal. Its live price, availability, and redemption terms have not been confirmed. Popular Science’s coverage is the source for those past claims.
What the Black Friday offer was
The promotion described in the coverage was for a three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate digital membership code sold through StackSocial. The reported price was $36.49 for one code. The coverage said buyers could combine five discounted codes to cover 15 months and save 28% compared with the referenced regular price. Those figures describe that promotion; they are not a current quote or a guarantee that five codes can still be redeemed together.
The source’s publication date is not shown in the retrieved result. Its search-index timing places the coverage roughly 1.9 years before October 8, 2026, so it should not be treated as evidence that the offer is live today. Check the seller’s current listing before paying.
Is the deal still available?
Current availability and price for this specific StackSocial offer are unverified. Microsoft’s general Black Friday page discusses gifting digital games or Game Pass Ultimate and says Xbox products may be discounted during Black Friday, but it does not confirm this StackSocial code or its 28% claim.

What to check before buying a membership code
Before purchasing, use the live seller page and checkout terms to verify the details that determine whether the code works for the intended recipient:
- Current total price: Compare the price for three months, including any fees, with other live offers. Do not assume the historical $36.49 price remains available.
- Region: Confirm the code can be redeemed in the recipient’s country or account region.
- Recipient eligibility: Check whether the offer is restricted to new members or otherwise excludes the recipient’s account type.
- Stacking: Confirm whether multiple codes can be redeemed consecutively and whether that applies to an account that already has an active subscription.
- Giftability and stock: Verify that the seller permits purchase for someone else and has the code in stock.
The available retailer and historical promotion descriptions do not settle these offer-specific terms. Microsoft’s general Black Friday page points readers toward gifting information, but it does not explain the StackSocial offer’s rules.

Don’t confuse it with Microsoft’s 2019 promotion
Microsoft’s Windows Experience Blog reported a separate Black Friday promotion in 2019: the first three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1. That was a distinct, dated offer, not evidence for the StackSocial price, availability, or redemption conditions. Microsoft’s 2019 announcement describes that older promotion.
