The reported Epic Games Store giveaways for October 1–8, 2026, are BURIED STARS and System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. Their reported regular prices total $69.98—not $100+. The titles and prices come from secondary reports, so check Epic’s live free-games page for the current offer and regional availability before claiming.
What are the free Epic Games this week?
Gamermovil and TechWiser report that both games are available to claim from October 1 through October 8, 2026. Epic’s official page describes its recurring weekly giveaway, with a new mobile and PC giveaway arriving each Thursday, but its available page capture did not confirm these specific titles. The live Epic listing is the best place to verify whether the offer is still active.
- BURIED STARS: reported listed price of $39.99.
- System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster: reported listed price of $29.99.
The prices were reported by Gamermovil in 2026. They are not a universal regional price table, and local prices or availability may differ. Gamermovil’s October 2026 list and TechWiser’s October 1–8 list identify the pair; PC Gamer’s October 1 report also records the lineup.
Are the Epic free games worth $100?
Not on the prices reported for this week’s pair: $39.99 plus $29.99 equals $69.98. The available reporting does not support a $100+ value for these two games. A listed price is also not the same as cash saved: it matters only if you would otherwise have bought a game at that price.

What kind of games are included?
BURIED STARS
BURIED STARS is a mystery adventure about contestants trapped after a live survival-audition show collapses. They communicate as events unfold and trust erodes. That premise may appeal to players who enjoy character-driven mysteries and tense social dynamics. GameWatcher’s October 1 coverage describes the setup.
System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster
The reported offer is for System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. The available information does not establish enough about its features to make a reliable feature-by-feature comparison with BURIED STARS. Check its Epic product page for the description and technical details, then decide based on your own genre preferences.
