Fulham completed Oscar Bobb’s permanent move from Manchester City on 30 January 2026, so the reported pursuit is no longer ongoing. Fulham lists the transfer fee as undisclosed; BBC and Sky Sports reported the completed deal at £27m. The £35m figure came from earlier coverage of the talks, not the later reported fee.
What happened to Fulham’s pursuit of Oscar Bobb?
Fulham signed Bobb permanently from Manchester City on 30 January 2026. Manchester City confirmed his departure, and Fulham’s official player page says he agreed a five-and-a-half-year contract running through summer 2031. Fulham’s player page identifies the fee as undisclosed; Manchester City’s announcement confirms the permanent move.
Why are £27m and £35m both being reported?
The figures refer to different stages of the transfer coverage, and neither should be described as a fee officially disclosed by Fulham.
- £35m: January reporting attached this figure to an earlier proposal or valuation during negotiations. It was not the later reported completed fee. BBC’s 20 January report covered the talks, while Sky Sports’ reporting discussed the £35m figure.
- £27m: BBC reported that the clubs agreed a deal at this amount on 26 January and later reported the completed signing at £27m. Sky Sports also reported the completed move at £27m. These are media-reported figures; Fulham’s official page continues to list the fee as undisclosed. BBC’s 26 January update; BBC’s signing report; Sky Sports.
How the deal unfolded
- 20 January 2026: BBC reported Fulham were in talks with Manchester City to sign Bobb.
- 26 January 2026: BBC reported that the clubs had agreed a £27m deal.
- 30 January 2026: Fulham recorded Bobb’s signing on its official player page, and Manchester City confirmed his permanent departure. BBC and Sky Sports reported the completed fee at £27m.
Manchester City said: “Oscar Bobb has left Manchester City to sign for Fulham on a permanent deal.” The club also noted that a fractured leg had sidelined him for most of the preceding season. That injury history is context from his former club’s announcement, not an update on his current availability at Fulham.
